We are coming to disney in December, and I want to know if it is worth it to buy tickets to Mickey's Very Christmas Party. We have an almost 2 year old, so I wanted to see if it would be worth it If it starts at 7 and is almost $60 per person, I want to know if it is any good. Please give me feedback!

The answer to your question is YES it's worth it, but that is merely my opinion and everyone around here has their own.

First, your correct the party starts in the evening, but they will let you in at 4:00.

It seems as though everyone has their own reason for going to the party as well. Some love the parade, some love just taking in all the special things during the party, but for us since we're coming to celebrate our anniversary without kids I'm using it as a time to ride-hop til I'm silly while stopping for only cookies and hot chocolate. lol You could use the time to get there at 4:00 (hopefully right after her nap) then ride a bunch of the fantasyland rides. Grab a quick dinner, catch the parade and then plan accordingly as the time reaches her bedtime.

There are two times for the parade, so with a young child I would do the first parade and then call it a day if they were too tired to continue. If I could get them to sleep in a stroller, I'd probably wait to see the fireworks, shop or take turns riding rides.

It's just magical. The snow, the atmosphere, the parade, the cookies...etc. :cloud9: Every year when I hang up my Disney ornament or get out my mini Mickey Mouse tree, I remember how much fun we had.

Also, if you search the threads for MVMCP you will find a ton of useful info.

Good luck!!

MVMCP is worth going to. We went a few years ago, and it was the best parade I've ever seen there. The decorations are amazing, the snow is magical, the cookies and hot chocolate are yummy. Its lots of fun and very festive!

So is the park closed topeople without MVMCP tickets? How do they regulate that? Just curious. Because if they let people in at 4 for this then we could go to epcot in the AM then come at 4 for MVMCP.:goodvibes

When you enter into the Magic Kingdom on the MVMCP night you get a special bracelet put on your arm. Then at 7pm, they start policing those that do not have the bracelets. They will no longer be allowed to ride any rides. I think I remember them making announcements. But it is enforced that no bracelet = you must go.

I have not been to MVMCP but have done the MNSSHP....def. worth the extra ticket and yes most of the rides are still running!

I sure hope we can get into the park at 4pm for MVMCP! Had read here on the boards that there is possibly a new rule about not getting in until later---can anyone confirm the 4pm admission? We're planning to go to SeaWorld that day so I'd sure like to know for certain. THANKS!! =0)

As far as OP's question: We've been to other hard ticket MK events, like the Pirate and Princess Party and just about everything was open (not all dining places though)---it was so so so worthwhile---we are "rides" people so we were able to ride EVERYTHING as often as we wanted and the only lines we experienced were Peter Pan's Flight and Space. The Christmas atmosphere and parade and fireworks and so on all make it very worth our while---in fact, we may get tickets for the second night it is offered whie we are there!! Free Hot Cocoa and Mickey and Snow in MK? Very thrilled to ahve this unique experience.

We just went on Friday 11/19 and were able to enter the park @ 4 pm. Those that didn't have the wristband were not allowed to enter ride lines. This was my first MVMCP and worth it. Not many lines for the rides that were open. Cookies and hot cocoa were very good and plentiful. We did more riding in one evening than we may have if we were in the park all day! Loved it. Snow on Mainstreet is truly "magical".

Characters were not over dressed :sad2::sad2: just a scarf thrown over Tigger/Pooh's shoulder.

The decorations were great and the castle is beautiful:santa:

I highly recommend spending extra for the tickets. I will say that I think the Halloween Party is even better! More photo opps and free face painting @ Halloween.

YES!
Last year we went and enjoyed it so much went again the next evening!

When 7:00 hits the "wristband police" come out in full force.

Without a wristband you cannot:
1. Enter any store
2. Enter any attraction line
3. Enter any eatery
4. Make a purchase from any cart

They may allow you to enter a restroom.

There are blockades which will prevent you from going anywhere in the park; you will have to go back to Main Street.

If you are on Main Street and do not have a wristband you will be asked to leave the park and someone may stay with you until you do so.

I will be the opposing opinion. I think it should be done, so if this is the only time you will be going to WDW during Christmas, then yes. However, knowing what I do now, going by myself with my 4 yr old ds, I wish we would have waited until he was a little older.

I think you should primarily consider the needs of your 2 year old when you decide. My kids are in bed by 7:30 every night, so a party that starts at 7 is a recipe for heartbreak. I know some kids have no problem staying up late, and maybe yours is like that. In my household, if bedtime is delayed, there is a general crashing sound around 8 as the little ones hit the wall. We've learned its better not to fight it. Someday we'll get to go, I hope, but for now we're sticking with the early nights.

I went with my almost 2 year old 3 year old and it was soooo not worth it. They were tired and upset most of the night and fell asleep so we left early. I was so looking forward to the party. Went to MNSSHP with a 17 month old a few years ago and had a wonderful time so you just never know. You know your child's schedule. Keep to it. I should have. If your child is more adaptable than I am sure the party is AWESOME! My cousin's took their 3 and 5 year old's the same night and had a blast. They rode tons of rides, met so many characters and loved parade. I was most looking forward to the parade and only saw bits and pieces :sad1: Not at all knocking the party, it's great it was just a timing issue for us.

If you don't mind "wasting" the money and taking a chance go ahead and get tickets. If it's going to be a huge budget buster and in the middle of your child's bedtime and then maybe it's not a good idea. Sorry, I'm not much help LOL.

Just saw the above posters reply and yeah, what she said! I was willing to waste the money but should have stuck to the schedule....

:thumbsup2
Last year we went and had so much fun that I will definitely to it again with my nephews.
