Should we go in June or late July?

We're thinking of spending my birthday in June at DisneyWorld. We've only visited in October so summer heat and crowds are kind of scary. Also, I read of people going in June and getting lots of rain.

PLEASE can you guarantee us GREAT weather and NO crowds! HA! HA!

I would pick June for the heat. Keep in mind a little rain can help with the crowds.

June over July. June will be busy, but the period from 4th of July through the 2nd/3rd week of August are the busiest weeks of summer.

You are going to have to pick crowds or rain, perhaps both. We went in June and it rained everyday, not talking about the little rain showers that come everyday and leave after an hour. I am talking about rain all day and every day. We wore our yellow rain ponchos all day. Had them over the strollers. My mom took a picture in panaramic view of a sea of yellow ponchos. It was miserable. The crowds didn't even seem to lighten because of it. The heat in July can be awful, but at least you can take afternoon breaks to swim. You can always come back later in the day or evening and see more. We chose August this year over June. Would rather risk crowds over rain.

We went last year in July for my niece's 3rd birthday and I won't say I will never go back, but I will say, I can think of many better ways to spend time in July. It was hot, busy and miserable. June would be my pick all the way. It will still be hot, but not quite as bad and the rains that you worry about hopefully will help with people leaving the parks, etc. (and will cool things off a little bit hopefully - although - we are talking about Florida here).

rkmassa, just want you to be aware that there is also alot of rain in August. We were there for 2 weeks and had rain most every day. Seems like the sun would be out when we arrived at the parks, but by noon it would start to cloud up and RAIN . We were there for Charlie, but the nasty weather from it only lasted one day.

First two weeks of June are not as crowded as last two weeks in June, which are about the same as that last week in July. However, you are looking at long lines regardless of the month. Heat is about the same both months (trust me, there really is not much difference between a 95 degree average with high humidity in late July and 93 degree average with high humidity in June; it is hot regardless). Both times, you can get a lot of rain although our experience has been that you have a somewhat higher risk in June of getting a fairly constant rain that lasts for many hours rather than just intermittent downpours. It is in June that we once experienced rain for almost 16 of every 24 hours for a week (2003) but only a couple thunderstorms for an entire week when they had fires in many parts of central Florida because of drought (2001). Late July is usually the more predictable three to four fairly short thunderstorms (downpours) per day; unfortunately one of those always seems to hit just when Fantasmic is about to start.

Thanks Drusba. I was worried there. We were in Disney in 2002 in June, and oh my did it ever rain. We are hoping for a dry trip this time with just the regular afternoon shower.

We were there in June last year and it was great! It did rain every night so doing a lot of park stuff in the late evening was a bit hard but the crowds were pretty good.
