I posted a similiar thread on the dining plan board about the basic vs deluxe plans. Here's what I need help with:

If we do the basic we're planning on the following TS:
1. Cap N' Jacks
2. Mama Merose's
3. Ohana
4. Liberty Tree Tavern
5. Boma
6. Biergarten
7. Princess Storybook Breakfast at Akershus
8. Donald's Breakfast at Tusker House (OOP)
9. Crystal Palace (Breakfast) (OOP)
10. Whispering Canyon Cafe (OOP)

If we do the deluxe we'd be adding the following:
1. Coral Reef
2. Sci-Fi Dine In
3. Hoop De Doo
4. Playhouse Disney (Breakfast)
5. Le Cellier
6. Chef Mickey's (Breakfast)
7. Cape May Cafe (Breakfast)
8. and possibly taking away Princess Storybook Breakfast at Akershus and replacing with CRT

Are these places worth spending $600 more for the deluxe plan? :confused3 I have read good things about all of them and want to try them... but what do you guys think? Any you would change and with what?

PLEASE HELP!!!! THIS IS STARTING TO CONSUME ME!!!! :headache:

I have limited experience with some of these restaurants, but I'll give you my 2 cents:

Le Cellier was great! My husband and I really enjoyed it. Boma and 'Ohana are also great!!

Capn jacks was just ok. Not really worth it IMHO. But, many others love it, so maybe it would be worth giving it a try. I also didn't think that the Coral Reef was all that great. It was just ok.

I don't think I was that much help, LOL! I don't know if it would be worth the $600 extra dollars when there were so many counter service places we really liked as well! I guess my vote would be to save the $600 and stick with what you have.

My comments are next to your choices. Have a great trip!!!

1. Cap N' Jacks (haven't done)
2. Mama Merose's (haven't done)
3. Ohana (yes)
4. Liberty Tree Tavern (haven't done)
5. Boma (yes)
6. Biergarten (haven't done)
7. Princess Storybook Breakfast at Akershus (yes, esp if you have a young child)
8. Donald's Breakfast at Tusker House (OOP)
9. Crystal Palace (Breakfast) (OOP) YES
10. Whispering Canyon Cafe (OOP) YES

If we do the deluxe we'd be adding the following:
1. Coral Reef (My least favorite - food not good)
2. Sci-Fi Dine In (HAVEN'T DONE BUT I AM DOING THIS TIME)
3. Hoop De Doo (haven't done)
4. Playhouse Disney (Breakfast) (haven't done - walked out of H&V last time because it didn't look clean)
5. Le Cellier YES
6. Chef Mickey's (Breakfast) (Make this ressie NOW - fills up as fast Le Cellier)
7. Cape May Cafe (Breakfast) (Went there for dinner -- good)
8. and possibly taking away Princess Storybook Breakfast at Akershus and replacing with CRT

How about just planning another trip to hit all the places you don't get to do on the basic plan? :rotfl: Seriously, consider adding the Cape May breakfast to your schedule...we loved it, even with older kids.

my top 3 from that list would be Chef Mickey, Crystal Palace, and Hoop Dee Doo... i would say do those 3 regaurdless...

I will respond by your choices, but looking at the age of your children the deluxe meal is a lot of food and it takes away from your park time. We did the regular dining plan two years ago and we had plenty of food! We didn't spend any money oop. I know it's hard to choose, we are planning our second trip for this year and it makes me sad that I still won't get to try Boma, but I let me dd's choose our meals and I think they've done a good job. The last time our meals were definitely a big part of our trip experience.

1. Cap N' Jacks - haven't done
2. Mama Merose's - haven't done
3. Ohana- we did breakfast last time and loved it, this trip we are doing dinner
4. Liberty Tree Tavern-characters great, atmosphere+, didn't love the food, just ok
5. Boma-I really want to try this, friends liked it
6. Biergarten-trying it this year
7. Princess Storybook Breakfast at Akershus-haven't done, friends liked it
8. Donald's Breakfast at Tusker House (OOP)we did this when it was at a different place
9. Crystal Palace (Breakfast) (OOP)dinner last time, we are doing breakfast this year. Beautiful restaurant and good character interaction
10. Whispering Canyon Cafe (OOP)loved it, we are doing this one again this year

If we do the deluxe we'd be adding the following:
1. Coral Reef - the aquarium is really neat, we really enjoyed this
2. Sci-Fi Dine In trying this year
3. Hoop De Doo haven't done, but it eats two ts
4. Playhouse Disney (Breakfast) haven't done
5. Le Cellier -gets great reviews, but haven't done it
6. Chef Mickey's (Breakfast) we are doing dinner this year
7. Cape May Cafe (Breakfast) nope
8. and possibly taking away Princess Storybook Breakfast at Akershus and replacing with CRT and another haven't done, it eats 2ts meals too.

I will say our last trip I planned two breakfast TS meals, because my dh loves breakfast and doesn't get to eat big breakfast much, but he commented that he would have rather had dinner or lunch ts meals more. We could eat a pretty good breakfast at our resort using our snack credits or if we wanted something bigger we used our cs credit. Hope this helps some.
