We are thinking about going to the waterparks on our August trip this year, or at least Typhoon Lagoon. Our kids will be turnning 6 and almost 4 at the time of the trip. Just wondering what the water parks have for the little ones.

We learned after our first summer trip to make the water parks a day 1 activity. You fly in - usually early to get the most from the day - and try to check into your resort and find you don't have a room yet..... you are already tired and it's so hot. If you go to a theme park and keep calling to see when your room is ready it seems to take FOREVER. If you pack swimsuits in your carry-ons and change into those and go to the water park on day 1 you don't care how long it takes to get your room. The water park closes about 5pm or 6pm.... by the time you take the bus back to the resort your room is ready to go. You can change clothes and get ready for dinner.

There are small kid areas in both water parks in addition to all of the larger kid stuff. They have life vests so you can handle non-swimmers in the lazy river. A few years ago we had my then 18 month old daughter and less than 1 year old nephew tho both water praks and had a great time both days. (Although we did have 6 adults, and 3 older kids all around to help tend to the littlest ones.)

We had our kids at Blizzard Beach for the first time when they were 3.5 and 7.5 and we had a blast. Took them back last year (4.5 and 8.5) and again had a great time. We loved the family raft ride and the little kids area and the pre-teen area.

Our kids LOVE the water parks! Blizzard Beach was a huge hit - the kiddie play area is better at that one, IMO. There are lots more slides and it's geared more for little kids than toddlers (for babies/toddlers I would do Typhoon Lagoon's kiddie area). There are fun family rides and slides too - don't miss Teamboat Springs - my then 4yo DD (very petite) had a blast and we could all 5 ride at once. We rode it 4 times, I think. There were lots of slides we could ride tandem as well. 1st time we went to BB our kids were 4,6,8 and it was their favorite day of the whole trip!
