Should we be nervous?

We recently, like this week, had to cancel a WDW trip we were really looking forward to due to an illness. Good thing too as now a cold has reared its head.

Due to a bad SW experience we have some free flight money that expires in October. We are disheartened to have to miss the planned trip. All we could find on short notice that doesn't require more walking is DLP.

Our last time there was in 2003, when my father was still alive. Seeing the haunted mansion overlay and zero flying and some day of the dead fun has always been on my 'bucket' list.

The problem is we know how WDW works and enjoy it, are scarred of the unknown especially after the diagnosis. I don't want to clear my bucket list and have nothing left. We also only have five days to do the parks and other parts. Not enough I say.

Anyone wanna try to calm my nerves? I have HFA and now may need a wheelchair to push and ride in. All with my 60 + mother. Neither of us can drive and will be staying at the Sheraton Anaheim, on big discount too boot.

Please let me know we will be safe and have fun. It's been a dream, but a far off semi scary one too.

Thanks, have read the guide for WDW vets too, somewhat helpful here.

Disneyland is one of the safest places you can go to, and I can't imagine anyone NOT having fun there! During some past trips, I had to stay in a wheelchair most of the time, and can assure you it is do-able. Have a great time!

Because my DH and I are both 60+, we cannot walk far without resting, and tire easily. Even with our limitations, five days (which is what we stayed during our visit a year ago) was enough to do both parks. We rode all our favorite rides multiple times, and saw WOC twice and Fantasmic once. I really think you will be just fine.

Disneyland and C/A are very manageble in 5 days..

Disneyland you will use the exits for most of the rides to load.. in C/A you will mostly wait in the reg lines.

AS for the safetly of the area.. Disnelyand itself is a very safe place.. as is the surrounding hotels ares... now saying that. of course there can be troubles.. travelling on the ART.. Discounted for disabled travellers... or the hotel shuttle if they have one.. you should be fine getthing to and from the parks safely..

Inisde the parks do as you would in WDW,, keeping all valuables on you at all times. and just making sure you are aware of your suroundings you should be ok..

Disneyland is compact in comp to WDW and therefore you wont be moving from park to park to park like in FL.. as for having fun.. well thats up to you... :) me I have fun at the doctors office .. so if you are in DL Im sure at some point you will be enjoying yourself..

Try to relax and you will have a great time... nothing scary about DIsneyland..
well TOT comes to mind..:rotfl:
