I know AA filed bankruptcy last fall. Is this something we should be worried about? What does this mean for travel next fall? Right now, they offer some pretty good flights for Sept. Should we avoid AA due to the bankruptcy?
SW's latest return flight home has a 3 hr 20 min layover in St Louis. This flight would be for our son & 3 children, including a 1 yr old. That just seems a little long to be waiting in the airport. They could get something to eat, but still, that's just too long.
Another option would be United, leaving MCO 45 mins later than SW, with a 1 hr layover at O'Hare. AA has 3 flights to choose from. 1 leaves MCO 2 hr 5 mins later than SW, but arrives home only 20 mins later. It has a 1 hr 40 min layover at DFW. This would seem to be the best flight for them.
We've never flown AA, so have no experience at all with them. For those of you in the know about AA, and considering the bankruptcy, what do you think?
