should us newbies do Hoop de doo?

We are going in Nov and I've got all my ADRs and such pretty well planned out. I did initially plan on doing Hoop one night but since I wasn't able to book (some problem w/ system and something about trying again after June 28). anyhoo....now I've had time to think......maybe we wont like it or think it's not worth the money anyway???? I just don't know. We've never even been to WDW before so what do I know.
Kids are 11 and 14 if that makes any difference. what do ya'll think? Oh...we will be paying OOP also. Is it THAT fun? help me decide please

In our 44 trips, we've done at least 15 HDDR's...all out of pocket....we don't do dining plans......the show is hilarious, corny fun....and the food to us is worth it....fried chicken, ribs....beer and sangria (all you can drink) kicks off our stays.....even though we've seen it numerous times, characters have changed but the story line is basically the same......we know the lines but still laugh and enjoy the total experience...worth every cent.....

We loved the it! It really was a fun time for everyone. I think it's something everyone so experience at least once. It's such a classic Disney show...go for it!

It's one of the few things they have not messed with in the 25 years we've been going to WDW. Great entertainment with a good meal. For my money, it beats any of the so-called "signature" restaurants, hands down!

We have gone to the HDDR every time we have gone to WDW... And although on the dining plan this time, we have paid many times out of pocket! My boys 15 & 13 still love it!!!

(and we are going to see it in just about 2 weeks!! )

We have been several times and we love it. I definitely think it is worth it, and we pay OOP as well.

We just did this for the first time last month (after having been to WDW several times), and left not knowing how we could have possibly waited so long to see it. It's a great family show that reaches across ages and genders, I think.

Personally, once was enough for me, but I think everyone should try it at least once. I didn't find it funny (just not my kind of humor). The food was *ehhh*-I do not care for meat "on the bone* so it just wasn't my style. The pasta option was tasty (a true vegan friend opted for that). I don't drink so the Sangria was no big deal.. I also thought the bus system was very time consuming in trying to get to the area--so be sure to plan ahead. Again, I would have felt like I was missing something if I had not ever tried it..but for me, once was enough.

HDDR is so fun! All three of our kids loved it. I'm actually in the process of trying to convince my whole family NOT to do it this year just because I'm trying to do a few new restaurants and didn't want to sacrifice the 2 table credits. BUT..it really is so good, I agree, it's worth paying out OOP. I don't see how anyone couldn't find it hilarious! Our most memorable night last year, hands down!

Oh..and if you do happen to have a car, this is the one place I would drive to If not, just plan ahead..maybe switch it up and take the boat

It is by far, hands down, without a doubt the best show in WDW. It's fun, silly and corny. But well worth the price.

Ok, ya'll got me convinced! sounds like we need to give it a try. Thanks for all the great recommendations everyone!
Since this is our first family trip to WDW, and maybe our only trip to WDW (hubby isn't too thrilled w/ going to Disney and has a huge list of other destinations we need to visit also) I really don't want to have any regrets on missing out on something I really am curious about.
We're not all that concerned with the food (we live in TX, so we get plenty of good food here!) rather I want to eat at "fun" places on this trip. Stuff that we can only see at Disney. As a matter of fact I booked sci-fi, luau (not best reviews I know but hubster really wants to do this), and also at least drinks in Mexican pavilion. You know...places w/ a cool atmosphere or show.

I'm just sooo excited for this trip because my whole family thinks it's gonna be just another Six-Flags and I can't wait to prove them wrong
We are staying at the Poly and doing Christmas party too

We had a table right at the stage once and I hated it because it was so close up it was hard to see everything going on. We did get some good interaction with the cast members & got to talk to the piano player (he was from my mom's hometown) but I'd not want to be that close again!

We really enjoyed it. The icing on the cake is that our son was picked to "volunteer" in the show, but we were having a good time even before that.

I haven't seen it yet so maybe I have no right to comment, but I wouldn't worry about it if you are newbies. There's already so much to see and do in such a limited amount of time. Honestly, the only reason we do stuff like this is because we've been to WDW many times, so we're always seeking out new experiences.

I love planning for newbies too I planned a trip with my cousin's fam last Aug-5 of them all had never been to the "world" My cousin kept saying this would be "their one and only" trip and I would say "you watch you'll be addicted like me" And now all they talk about is going back.

As far as Hoop de-I've been a few times and it is alot of fun. I'm kind of a picky eater and don't love the food but definitely should be tried once.

You'll love the Christmas party and the Poly!!! Have a great trip!!!
