Should there be puddles in my backyard?

I just paid to have the yard regraded but after watering the yard, found puddles!

What do they do when they regrade your yard?

Until you have grass growing, I would think yes you could have some puddles. They cant get it 100% level. I would think once you have grass you won't notice what is most likely pretty normal.

We had that done a few years back and they told us to put sand in areas that puddled.

Will grass grow thru the sand?

I would imagine in Nebraska that the sand would blow away. Are you watering seed?

I'm watering every other day - hopefully that's good enough. So it's not a big deal that the yard is not perfectly even? There shouldn't be a puddle next to the foundation, right?
