Should not have renewed my AP!

My AP was to expire the end of January and I wasn't sure I wanted to renew it, maybe I should just hold off an buy a new one for my April trip. I spoke to someone in Passholder Services that talked me into renewing; assuring me that it was saving me money and if, for some reason (I was have medical tests at the time) I couldn't make the trip we could deal with things later. Now, what do I do? I can only travel next April? MY AP will be no good?

If you haven't used it yet - call them and explain and ask for a refund. They've been making some exceptions to normal rules in light of everything can't hurt. Clearly if you're now not going to use for many months - it wasn't worth it. OR - see if you can pay the difference to the non-renewal cost and ask them to make it an unactivated pass for next time you go.

If you have not used the pass since the renewaldate, I think you can ask them to allow you to just upgrade the renwal to a new AP and pay the difference. Just be prepared to have to pay the new AP price.

Disney is known for their leniency, even without a national emergency going on. Call them and ask them nicely for a refund.

I have a Premier Pass and this is what was written in the e-mail they sent to me regarding the extension:

Given the necessary closure, all Premier Passholders who have Passports that are valid during the closure period of the theme parks, will have their Passport expiration date extended based on the impacts of the closure. The extended date will be reflected on your Passport account prior to our reopening of the parks.

It expired in January and a CM convinced you to renew even though you wouldn't be using it until April? I’d call and talk with them about that even if you could go in April. That’s a lot of time without using the AP. Might not have been worth it at all. (Though I’ll admit I’m not totally up on renewal pricing right now; maybe it was worth those months for the discount)

It can also depend on how many times the guest can use the renewed AP within the "second half" of the renewed year. That's why its always good for the AP holder to have a good handle on the next year's plans and to "do the math."
