Should I whiten my teeth?

How has this worked out everyone else who's tried at home whitening? What brand/method did you use? I asked my dentist about whitening b/c I do have dental implants and he said I could use an at home kit but that I just needed to be careful not to let my natural teeth get whiter than my implants. There's no way to whiten the implants short of getting new teeth made, lolololol Anyhow, it's one more thing that I'm wondering if I should put time/effort/money into before the wedding. I've got just about three months. Any info/advice would be appreciated, thanks!!!

My dentist gave me a custom kit to do at home. They made me special retainer like things that I wear at night. It works great, but it does make your teeth hurt a little right after so I only use it once a month or so.

The Crest Whitestrips work great. I think I would have even better luck with them now. My problem with the old kit was having to remember them everyday for 2 weeks (I can't remember anything, so it is amazing that I can remember my thyroid meds everyday). The newer kits have 1-week options. I would go with that. DBF had white teeth that were off of the charts at his dentist's office (he also used them for 4 weeks straight). At least his teeth weren't as bad as what Ross did on friends.

I think I may pick up a pack of the crest whitestrips IN FL while we are there next week, I havent seen them back home and I've heard good things about them before. I paid to have my teeth whitened while we were cruising in May and I can notice a subtle difference,( Nothing like Ross!!!) but it cost something like $199 which I can't really afford to keep repeating, so I'll be trying something at home too!

I plan on getting my teeth whitened before my wedding in December. When I talked to my dentist about this, he gave me a choice of doing it at home for $200 or in office for $500. I think I'm going to go with the latter. It's more expensive, but a lot less time consuming. I figured that knowing me, I would forget half the time or I wouldn't leave it in long enough and it would wind up being kind of a waste. So, I figured better to pay more and make it worth it. I have heard the at home kits work really well, though, if you follow through with them. And I've heard good things about the Crest Whitestrips, too .Good luck with your decision!

If your dress is white, then definately. If off white or ivory etc, it isn't so crucial. I got a tooth lightener that works with this special little gizmo with an ultra violet light and some past that I got on ebay for around $15 and it worked a treat.

Has anyone had sensitive teeth and whitened them at home? The Crest Whitestrips make my teeth hurt a lot. I was thinking about trying those new Listerine Whitening Strips but am not sure how strong they are. Has anyone tried them?

I've used the Listerine ones. They are pretty good. They leave a little gunkiness though b/c they dont dissolve all the way. But they do leave a clean flavor in your mouth. I usually dont have any teeth sensitivity when I use whitening products but they do kill my gums!! With the Listerine strips, I was able to keep them off my gums just by scraping off the part that covers the gum. SInce they dissolve it's easy to remove some of the strip and ONLY cover your teeth.

I have used Crest Whitestrips too and they work well. I'll be using one of these products right before my wedding!

How soon before?? just a couple of weeks??

I plan on doing it immediately before. I want my last day of using the strips to be the day before the wedding. So I'll either start one or two weeks before that day depending on which brand I go with. I also plan on trying to really limit coffee and soda for those weeks too b/c they stain a lot! :)

I wanted my teeth bonded and whitened before the wedding. I had 2 silver fillings that showed when I smiled big and I did not want a silver mouth in my wedding pictures! About 1 month before the wedding my dentist said to use the Crest Whitestrips because they do just as good a job as the stuff he would give me and are about $30 vs. $500. I used them for 2 weeks and then he matched the bonding to my new tooth color. It looked amazing! I was thrilled with the results and still am two years later!! I've used the Whitestrips a few times since. They do an excellent job and it's easy.

Before the wedding I used the crest white strips...they worked great but they did hurt my tetth a little - not intolerable for me but not comfortable. However they do not last too long but served the prupose for the wedding. I did mine in June and now want to redo it.

I am now trying the listerine. I agree they leave some slime in the mouth. Not sure how they work yet (only on my first day) but they taste really gross to me- but I will deal with it for white teeth:rotfl:

I'm going to try gosmile. I went to Sephora and got samples but didn't try it yet. It only costs around $80, so thats better than professional whitening.

Crest Whitening Strips work great.. I also like the Aquafresh ones. But! If you over use them, your gums and teeth will be sore so I would follow the instructions on the box or have your dentist make you up a set of trays ($$$)

I just got GO Smile. I know alot of people that use and love it. You don't have to deal with trays. It comes in a capsule and you just rub it on. I think you have to wait 30 minutes to eat or drink. Plus it only takes a 10 days.

I used the trays from the dentist's office. They kinda worked. I was glad for the pictures, but they do not have lasting results.

Crest Whitestrips hurt my teeth so bad I only used them for 2 days. I couldnt eat solid food for a day or so after!

I'm leaning towards the Zoom, 1 hr at the dentist and you're done!

Does anyone know if they have any of these 'strip' options available in the UK?
I've never seen them before.

Has anyone tried BriteSmile? I'm considering doing that because I'm afraid of the tooth sensitivity from the strips. :teeth:
