Should I wait?

I've been reading through all the threads on these boards regarding codes and whether or not they will be released for April 17th through Summer 2005. We are going May 5th 2005 the start of the celebration but are part of a land/sea package. We disembark from the ship May 12th and plan to come back for 3 nights.

I've been patiently waiting for codes to come out until I book but now I'm getting nervous that if I don't at least book something soon, there won't be any rooms left at all. Should I continue to wait until say the 2nd week of March or should I book something sooner just in case? Please help!!

I would book now and keep checking for codes or use a TA that will do that for you. If you wait, you may not be able to get in where you want.

I agree that it would probably make sense to book something now to secure a room at a rate you would be willing to pay if codes don't come out.

Only book at the rate you would be willing to pay if there are no codes. If you're not willing to pay rack rate, then you're best off to wait to see if codes are released.

Do you have AAA? If so, call now and book the room using AAA discount. It's better than nothing, and if a room code comes out before your trip all you have to do it call back and have them apply the new code.

P.S. I agree with those who say that if you KNOW you need the room with or without a code, book it now!

I see this problem as a sort of "catch-22". If you really want your room and are willing to pay rack rate, you'll book it without a code. Since it's taken so long for any new codes to come out for late Apr-May-June, many people have done this.
So, now the problem (from our standpoint) is that Disney sees so many hotel rooms are booked for this period of time (at the RACK rate). So, from their point of view, why should they give people any codes for that time frame? After all, many (if not most) of the rooms are already booked!!
So, in a way, we are causing this situation.

I'm still waiting for the codes ~ we do want to make another trip this Spring, but thankfully we can be flexible with the dates, so I'm hoping a code will come out that I can use. We can do SOG at a good rate, but we much prefer a "real" Disney resort. I really wish that SOG hadn't expanded ~ it used to be SO much easier to get overflow rates at the other hotels!! :flower: Then I didn't have to worry about getting a code.

I would think that Disney is hoping the "publicity" around the May 5th event will fill things up the first few weeks in May.

I would book a room now unless you don't care where you stay.

I'm reading through your replies and thinking OMG where is the phone I better book NOW :earseek: Obviously, I think you all are right better safe than sorry!! Thanks for the advice. Time is running out :hourglass
