Should I wait for IPhone 5?????

Right now I currently have the Droid Eris, really don't like it. Only reason I bought was because I wanted Verizon service and at the time all they had was the Droid. Fast forward to now. We leave for Disney soon. I take pictures with my phone along with my real camera. But my Eris doesnt have a flash and the zoom stinks.
Should I upgrade now to the IPhone 4 or should I stick it out and wait to see if a new one comes out this summer like the rumor says?

Background on me, I am a mom with a smart phone. But would I know the difference between the IPhone 4 and 5? All you tech people out there offer me some advice, PLEASE I am confused....

You might want to visit Macrumors.com to see what could show up in the iPhone 5. Better reception (due to fixing the antenna issue), an aluminum back (rather than glass), a better camera, and a bigger screen are some of the rumors. I've got the 3 and am perfectly happy with it, and don't plan on upgrading at all unless they eventually make me. I don't use a lot of apps, just the main ones. You can get deals on the ones out now. I am not sure what the advantages are in the 5, other than it will have apps you can get that you can't get on the 3 or 4, but I don't need them anyway. There is already an app for anything you can think of already IMO.

Does anyone know when the iPhone 5 is due out? I have been limping along with my 3g hoping for a new version. Parts of it just keep on failing (I can only call on 3G and not Edge, my wi-fi is broken, no one can hear me on my microphone headphones, battery life sucks, I have to re-boot it constantly because it loses connection ...) but I am addicted to the darn thing anyway .

I heard that the 4G Iphone would be out in June-but who really knows until Apple announces it? You should check the Verizon website to see if your area will even HAVE the 4G network. We are not scheduled to go 4G until 2012! I upgraded to an Iphone at Verizon the same day that they came out because I wanted a smartphone and because I didn't care to wait for the next Iphone since the 4G wouldn't make a difference around here until after next year. I've taken quite a few pictures with it and it does take nice pictures.

I still have the 3GS...and I love it. I would go for the 4 and then upgrade later

If you want a better camera, how about the Droid X. It has an 8 mp camera with flash, editing features, etc. I agree with the other poster that said getting a 4G phone is worthless if you don't have a 4G network.
