Should I wait for a DING?

I am looking for tix from Pittsburgh to MCO and finding pretty much around the 250 range, so far. We have 5 of us and we are traveling thurs-thurs (sept 6-13)

I am seeing some really great rates with the DING, but nothing for me...so sad. ;(

I am just wondering if I should wait a little bit and see if they come up for our dates, or just buy now. I really don't want a refund for future air travel, and that seems to be what you get if you buy at the higher price and then switch after the ding comes up (if I am reading the 'rules' correctly)

What do you think, wwyd?

Thanks in advance for any responses, I am rusty on booking airfare.

I think you missed the first round of cheaper airfares. We got ours a little over a month ago with SW for 9/22-9/29. Ours was 157 pp from Albany ny to MCO. At this point I would wait for the next round. Check it daily.

My thought is why would you wait? Southwest is wonderful about refunding money. If you book now and the flights you have selected go to a cheaper fare then you change the flights to the lower fare and write a letter. They will refund your money if you keep the same flights. Now if you choose to pick different flights because of a lower fare you will have traveless funds for a future trip within a year from when you PURCHASE. They also are great at giving you a six month extension on that money. Plus it would be a good excuse to use the money to go back to DISNEY! Or you can "sell" those funds to friends or family for future use. The travel funds can be used for anyone airfare anywhere they fly.

I think if you have been waiting and watching that the prices may go up or down. Our prices out of BWI are climbing and I think prices will only go up. And if you have 5 traveling you may not be able to get everyone at the great rate unless you are really on top of it when any Ding or lower rates come out.

Be sure to book One ways so you can adjust flights accordingly when/if they go down. If your return flight has a cheaper fare you can just adjust the return side if you book them separately. Does that make sense?

The only way they will refund your cc is if you choose the exact flights. I have always been able to get them cheaper (after pulling the trigger) but it always seems like the flights I have chosen are not available. It's fine if you have a trip planned in the near future but useless if you don't. We do have a marathon trip planned for January so I could use some ticketless travel funds.

Right now, I need one ways (we booked the return as it's Labor day at $109) on August 24 and I am holding out for a ding or sale. If I were you I would wait a bit longer as they just started dings for August/September.

Just wanted to add that since you are traveling on Thursdays you might have a real good chance of keeping the same flights in an out. If you were booking on a Fri/Sat/ or Sunday I would be worried that you wouldn't be able to rebook those same flights easily. I would book, but I also agree that you have time to watch for a little while to see if they start to discount the fares. Good luck!
