Should I visit WDW in November 2016?

Hey guys,

I'm Disney parks regular from the UK but this will only be my second visit to the wonderful Disney World! My first visit was for 14nights during Spring break and it was fantastic! The crowds and hot weather were quite unbearable at times to say the least, which is why for my next visit I plan to go in November! I have however heard rumours that the crowds can be quite heavy then too due to Thanksgiving and Jersey week and because of this I plan to go early/mid November to at least avoid the Thanksgiving crowds. I will be staying for 14nights again so I guess I will run into crowds at some point.

I plan on splitting my stay at 2 Disney hotels, preferably Value resorts (flights from the UK can be pricey!) if anyone has any suggestions on where I should stay?

Secondly, when exactly is Jersey week and will the parks be as crowded as they say?

I'm hoping to see some Christmas decorations up while I'm visiting but also want low crowds, what would be the best 14 days to be at Disney in November?

Any other advice anyone can give me would be awesome and much appreciated!

Thank you! :mickeyjum

this year didn't really have a low crowd time in november. you're going to need to pick low crowds or holiday time. there is a little gap between food and wine and thanksgiving week though, that might be your only chance for lower crowds (but not low low crowds)

All the values are basically the same, but I like pop century personally. Don't forget to see if an annual pass would save you more money. It won't really save you more money on a room but there is food and merchandise discounts that if your on the edge of it being cheaper than regular tickets, it would be depending on how much you spend and how/where you dine. Don't forget to keep watching for discounts as it gets closer, disney will let you change reservations to save money if something better priced comes out closer.

In New Jersey there is a teach convention that happens and creates a 4 day weekend. It's rather common for families to use that for a warm weather vacation and many go to disney. In disney terms, CROWDED.

near the beginning of the month, food and wine is still happening, that's a great time. Mid to end of the month is when the gingerbread houses at the resorts finish if that is important. Probably your best chance of lower crowds and getting the best of both is the middle 2 weeks leaving as thanksgiving week starts.

Any other advice anyone can give me would be awesome and much appreciated!

If they do a free dining week, that discount comes out usually about mid april and as long as you arrive on a day it's valid, you could get free dining but it runs out fast so you really need to watch for it.

My fiancé and I did the 10th through the 14th this year in November. I'm my opinion it was GREAT! We went to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas party, so we got to see the Magic Kingdom all decked out, and the snow on main street was a cool touch. Hollywood studios had some decorations up. Disney springs had a few. We toured the Monorail Resorts, the Contemporary had their gingerbread display up. It was frozen themed, we even got a little card that said we found all the hidden mickey's and olaf's! Very cool experience. Crowds were pretty heavy, but not as bad as spring break, I think. we did spring break twice, it was almost enough to make me swear off Disney. Then we went in may, and I was a believer again! It's still hot enough for shorts and tanks in november, but not so hot your skin is melting. Food and Wine wasn't important to us, since we aren't drinkers, so we skipped epcot. And ran out of time, so we skipped animal kingdom too. Now we're pass holders, so hopefully we will get there again in 2016 for the decorations. :) I hope my personal review helps you!

My best tip, is if rides are more important to you than fireworks and parades, that's the time to go on them. My fiancé rode space mountain twice in a row during holiday wishes on MVMCP night. I thought he was crazy, but that's what he wanted to do!

We have gone a couple times for Thanksgiving and we are again in 2016. We actually check-in on Thanksgiving day, stay for about 9 days. (We stay at Fort Wilderness in our Camper. We leave usually Tuesday after work to arrive on Thursday morning. Then leave Friday to make the trek back home).

Thanksgiving day and the following Friday and Saturday are pretty busy, but Sunday starts to slow down, then Monday - Thursday are pretty descent. Weekends are always pretty busy.

The MVMCP is supposed to be "Limited Sales" and the first time we went (2012) it seemed like it was, but we went twice in 2014 to the MVMCP and if that's what "Limited" is, I am never spending the extra money for it again. It was just as packed (and maybe more so) as it was on any other day.

If you want to see decorations, then I suggest you take a trip over to Fort Wilderness (the campground) and check that out. Many camp sites have AMAZING decorations. As an example (and a stellar one) there is this guy who goes ALL OUT with his castle display http://land.allears.net/blogs/guestblog/2012/11/ft_wilderness_christmas_dave_t.html

Thank you so much you guys!
Based on what you've said I'm thinking of booking up for 6th-20th November 2016 (unless anyone can suggest better dates) with a 1 week stay at Pop and the other at AS Movies.
Would it be a wise move to go to Universal Orlando or Busch Gardens during the Jersey school holidays rather than WDW or would they be even busier.
Neither me or my boyfriend drive so we'd have to book day excursions.

Thanks again!

We ha e been there during Jersey Week the last two years and I did not think it was overly crowded. There were lots of guests that we met from Jersey, but it wasn't over run at all.

I am from the UK also, my girl friend and I have booked November 6th till the 20th, we usually go in April may time were it is very quiet.
As for hotel it might be better value for you to stay in a moderate as they have the money off 4 nights at the moment.
We have booked animal kingdom lodge and saved £1100
