It would be 100.00 more a night. Is it worth it? I am on the dining plan, would that be too much food? Is there any other reason to stay on the concierge level other than the food. I have most of my ADRs and I can't think of any other service we would need from them.

Doesn't sound like you'd use the concierge to its maximum potential, this trip. That is, unless you REALLY REALLY wanted to take the backstage safari tour (not the sunrise/sunset safari)

We stayed YC concierge this past December and overall, the pre-planning staff was worth every penny that we paid. It sounds like you have that all covered though. Basically, it's a higher level of service and the food/lounge is nice, but hard to imagine that you'd eat $100 worth of food a day there. Aside from a deluxe continental breakfast, it's basically a lot of snack items. In the evenings they do have wine, beer and late night cordials. A nice treat if you plan on spending time at the resort.

What room view type do you have? If you don't have a waterview room booked, that's where I'd put my money instead. Just my .02 cents though.

We have a standard view room booked b/c that is all that was available when we booked. I just noticed they had a waterview concierge available. The evening cordials would be a big benfit for us. There are 5 adults. Between the 5 of us, we would probably be able to drink more than 100.00 worth of alcohol (Disney prices). Do you know what time it is served?

Wine and beer are available with the evening offerings, 5-7pm. They also put out a hot soup, hot appetizer and items like cheese & crackers, veggies & dip. The cordials are served from 8-10pm with a tray of dessert specialties.

I mentioned the view, because we had a standard view room booked at the YC. We were there in December though and had little intention of sitting out on the balcony much. Our view overlooked the parking lot and roof of the convention center. I know that the BC has a similar standard view.

The concierge water view is lovely at YC. I always book this view. I like the convenience of the lounge not only for wine in the evening but also to grab a coke when returning to the room. For 5 adults thats $12.50 everytime you want a coke, but that's not why I book it. I love the planning staff there.

It was my understanding that the Waterview Rooms only slept 4 (no daybed). We had 5 in a Standard View Room (2 adults and 3 children). My 5 year old slept on the day bed. I'm not sure it would be very comfortable for a large adult. We were able to see the MK fireworks in the distance from our room. We just got back and I can't imagine having the meal plan and concierge. We had breakfast in the lounge and lunch at a sit down meal. Nobody was very hungry in the evening; so, the snacks were all we wanted. It was very hot in August. That may have been a factor in our appetites. Also, we spent a lot of time at the resort. Since I'm pregnant I needed to take a lot of breaks from the heat. I felt the YC Concierge was an excellent value for a family of 5 and can't imagine going to WDW without the lounge. I just don't think we would get our moneys worth from the meal plan if we did stay CL.

Why would staying conceirge at YC have an affect on the backstage safari tour? I am clueless! :confused3

I think the poster meant the Wildlife Discovery Expedition tour. It's a special safari tour offered to concierge guests only. The Backstage Safari tour is open to all guests.
