Should I upgrade to a moderate?

I have a quote for ASMU- but of course am wondering if I should upgrade to a moderate. One reason, dh and I are big coffee drinkers and would like to have a coffee maker in the room! It would be about $250 more. I'm scrimping and saving and could come up with the $$ but should I bother?

And if I should- Coronado Springs or Caribbean Beach? It's Dh, myself, dd13 and ds6.

If the coffee is the only reason, how about bringing your own coffee maker. At the moderates, there are no coffee makers in the rooms, you have to request for it. (I'm not sure about CSR, I think the coffee maker is in the room already, if so, if you are doing moderate for coffee maker, then this is the resort you wanna go with.) I love staying at the All Stars, but if coffee maker is all I am after to upgrade to moderate, I wouldn't do it.

Moderates are nicer cause it has more to offer, and of course it cost a little bit more to stay there too.

Yes they do have coffee makers in the Coronado Springs guest rooms.

Mermaid--

Your post doesn't indicate your hometown, but it seems you could buy a pretty slick coffeemaker in DTD and ship it home--assuming you're flying-- for less that the $250 difference in your ressie. Book the place where you really want to stay.

We're staying at ASSP in the fall, and I'm also a big coffee drinker. I will probably buy a more portable coffee maker than I have now (I would think for $15 or less) and take it with me. You could do so much more with the $250, either doing some special, extra things on your trip or saving it for another trip! Your kids will like both the value and moderate resorts, we finally got a chance to stay at a moderate last trip (POR-R) and my kids liked the All Stars just as well. Except my DD13 did love the hot tub at the moderate.

This advice is coming from one who likes to travel for less so I can go on more trips! But of course it's a personal thing.

Stay with a value resort. You can either buy a $10-$15 coffee maker when you get down or buy a refillable mug.

You're not getting enough extra with a moderate to be worth scrimping.

i have stayed at the asmu and both the moderates you have mentioned and i would honestly say if you plan on spending any time at the resort i would go with coranado-it has a great pool with a nice waterslide and there is a coffee maker with free coffee provided in your room..the bus service is also a lot better not to mention its a very beautiful resort..(i also really enjoyed cbr)i would only stay at the all stars again if it was for a weekend trip anything longer i would go with a moderdate..to me its definitely worth the extra money..

I agree with Lewis.

You can pick up a cheap coffee maker when you make your grocery stop for snacks and ground coffee.

If you are not picky about your coffee, you can just buy 2 refillable mugs and drink instant coffee until you float. I found the All Star food courts to be great for breakfast. One of us would toast bagels (also bought on the grocery run) and the other would fill our mugs with ultra-hot coffee and erzatz cream. My DH would sometimes add a spash of hot chocolate to make a mocha.
