Should I try to get an earlier time at Whispering Canyon?

We have been trying to eat at Whispering Canyon for a few trips now and can never seem to get it to fit in our plans. We are taking a day for the water parks 8/8 and I thought this would be the perfect day for a resort dinner. Trouble is I can only get an 8:50 ADR, way too late for the family. Has anyone had luck changing ADR's here closer to the date? Usualle we do Boma on our water park day but since no one knows what will be happening to the restaurant operating hours during construction I went ahead and booked WC. My ADRs were booked late this year since the trip was up in the air until about a month ago, but I was able to get everything else I wanted. Any suggestions?

I'd keep calling and see if anyone's made a cancellation for WCC that night. Then maybe you can take their spot at an earlier time.
