Should I take the bus to MK vs. driving from POR?

I've heard so many different things re: driving vs. taking the bus. Is it just the MK you should bus to? Any other parks difficult for driving? I'd like to get in as early as we can and just thought that by driving - it might be a little better as opposed to waiting for the bus.

Any thoughts or advice is much appreciated.

IMO, it's a toss up in regards to the other parks, but DEFINITELY take the bus to MK. If you drive yourself, you have to park at the TTC & then take the monorail or the boat to MK anyway. If you take the bus from your resort, it drops you off right in front of the MK.

We just returned from a stay at POR in July and found that driving our vehicle to most of the parks was invaluable. It did take us longer to drive to the MK because of the time it took to transfer at the TTC. But it was so quick and convenient to drive ourselves to the other parks and resorts.

And the bus from POR will take a back route, passing FW and then making a right into the MK bus terminal. From OKW, the next resort south, it took under 8 minutes from leaving the resort to drop off at MK. For MK from POR the bus is way better, way way better.

No matter where we stay, we always drive to every park except the Magic Kingdom. when we found out the resort busses drop us off right at the main entrance, it was a "no brainer" as opposed to driving to the Transportation Center, wait for a monorail or ferry, and then get to the main gate.

The clincher was on an early entry morning a few years ago, we sat at the Poly for 45 minutes in a monorail that quit moving. So much for early entry, we arrived 10 minutes before the park opened for all the guests.

Personally we take the buses everywhere(except for DTD, but no car on this trip ) we just find it easier than trying to park the car and walking to and from the parking lots.

We always take the bus to MK. And most other parks as well, unless we are staying at BW. Then we will walk to MGM and Epcot. But if traveling to other resorts we will drive ourselves.
