Should I take my boys to dinner at 1900 Park Fare?

My 3 boys are ages 6, almost 8, and almost 12. The little one still enjoys characters and is interested in the whole knight/prince thing. The oldest (I think) would play along with the stepsisters and would probably find them funny. The 8 year old will be mortified to be at a "princess" meal. We went to CRT last trip and while they all thought being in the castle was neat, it wasn't worth it for us.

I was hoping to try some new places for our trip, but this is the one I'm not sure about. The appeal is in visiting the Grand Floridian for dinner and a look at the Christmas decorations but I don't want to "burn" a TS credit. We will also be dining at Cape May (dinner), O'hana (dinner), Mama Melrose, Chefs de France and Tusker House (lunch w/characters).

Anyone who has eaten here with boys, please share your experiences.

Thanks!

We took our boys to 1900 PF for dinner, and they absolutely loved it. The food was good, and the characters were terrific. My boys were captivated the whole meal. They were 2 and 4 at the time, and it was fantastic. The night we ate there, I think we were the only table without a "princess", and the stepsisters, Prince Charming, and Lady Tremaine spent a hefty amount of time with us.

Just keep in mind, the stepsisters aren't always there. We were there last week for dinner and we had Cinderella, Prince Charming, Lady Tremaine and Suzy at dinner. No stepsisters. But we had 2 princesses with us so it wasn't too much of an issue.

If the Christmas decorations at the GF is the main draw, then I guess it would be okay. We didn't have 3 boys, but only 1 girl 14, but we ate there for breakfast a couple of years ago and it by far was the worst character breakfast experience we have ever had at Disney and we've eaten at many - Chrystal Palace - 10 times, Chef Mickey's - 2, Ohana's - 3, Cape May - 1 and 1900 Park Fair - 1. The atmosphere just wasn't nice at all. It's an interior room, that's pretty much plainly decorated, loud, crowded and un-organized. I don't know how dinner is, but our experience at breakfast was enough to know that we will never go back.

My son, who is 11, is always getting drug to all the character meals with little sis. Although he might not admit it, he enjoys it. I think if it were just him we might mot be able to talk him into CRT or Akershus. We all really like 1900 PF...food is not bad, and it is lots of fun!

Food is much better at Crystal Palace...

but the decorations at GF is worth the sacrifice of 1900PF if you cant find another excuse to get in there...make sure you stay long enough in the lobby to hear the big band play!

The 8 year old will be mortified to be at a "princess" meal.

Then he should say that to the stepsisters. :thumbsup2
They'll eat it up and play right along since they're not really princesses. When we went with DS3, he decided to throw himself on the floor in a tantrum right as we were being visited by Lady Tremaine. She looked down at him with a frown, helped him get up, looked at DW and I and said, "Here, let me help you two with your parenting." Perfectly in character. It was hilarious. As for food, I liked it a lot (try the strawberry soup). Check-in leaves a lot to be desired though as it's pretty unorganized.

I wouldn't use the credit for 3 boys that aren't into princesses. I think you'd be better off either doing breakfast or just walking over after ohana meal.
