Should I Take My 3.5 Year Old to See Bolt?

My son is 3.5 and pretty easy-going.

The only movie he has seen in a theater was Madagascar2. It went well.

I would like to take him to see Bolt this week, but was hoping to get some opinions from those who have seen it.

Thanks in advance.

My DS is close to that (4 in march) and he did fine through the whole thing. It is most Mittens and Bolt and the hamster through the whole thing. I think he liked it, but is also very easy going.

Good luck. I guess worst case is you leave the theater because it's not going well.

It was a cute movie, I'm even contemplating going back to see it again.

My 3.5 and 5.5 year olds loved Bolt. They sat mesmerized through the entire movie. The details of the plot of the movie were way over both of their heads but they still liked it!

We are going to see Madagascar tomorrow!

We took our three year old and he did well. The 3d glasses were a bit much for him. It was a distraction. Overall it was ok.

Oh absolutely. We took our 3 year old and 2 year old and both loved it so much that we went and saw it again the next weekend. They sat through the whole thing. 3 year old wouldn't leave the 3D glasses on but it was still very easy to watch without the glasses.
There are no really in-your-face scary or disturbing images at all. The scene of peril at the end is very brief. I'm pretty picky about what my little guys see especially since 3 year old is prone to nightmares but Bolt was fine.

This was DS3 first movie and he did okay. He liked the movie and has asked to go see it again, but like some one else said I think the 3D glasses are an issue. DS had a hard time keeping them on because they are a one size fits all and everyone in the theater with little kids said the same thing, way to big for little Disney fans, needed to make some 3D glasses in a toddler size. If they had fit better and hadn't kept falling off his face I think he would have sat throught the movie better, but all in all he did okay and he did like the movie!

Just so you know - you can opt to see it in 2D or 3D. If you go to the 3D movie and just take your glasses off the screen is kind of blurry. We saw it in 3D and in the future will just opt for the regular 2D movies.

My DD is 4 but has not done well with movies in the past. However, she *loved* Bolt. I highly recommend it. We opted to see the 2D version because I didn't think she'd tolerate the 3D glasses. I think that was a good choice for us.

We took our son who was 2 yr 8 mo. He liked it. There is a lot of action throughout the movie to keep him interested. We opted to see it in regular
2D because it was opening weekend and we figured that would be less crowded. We were also worried about him keeping the glasses on. He did fine at the movie and we are now 2 for 2 (Wall-E was his first).

we have seen both in the last month and while I didn't care for Madagasar, i liked Bolt. My 7 and 5 yr old loved them both.

I took mine. He loved it...he and his brother were laughing very loudly at the hamster. His humor was right up their ally.

We did not do the 3D...I think that would have been a little too complicated. The glasses would have been on and off throughout the whole movie!

Go for it!
