Should I take beach towels?

I saw in a thread that someone recommended taking beach towels. I had assumed that towels would be provided?

I didn't bring towels. DCL provides them. They also sell beach towels, if wanted.

I don't bring beach towels. DCL has towels available on the pool deck that you can pick up and take off ship. If you're on a DCL excursion that involves a water activity they will have towels available in the excursion meeting location on board you can take with you. There will be bins at the gangway so you can drop your used towels in them prior to reboarding.

Towels are provided. They are in bins on the pool deck. When exiting the ship at Castaway Cay, CMs are handing them out. I've heard that they are available at the meet up locations for any port adventures that involve water activities. I can't remember if they were available as we exited the ship at ports other than CC. I had grabbed some from the pool deck to take with us. There were return bins for towels next to the ship when we re-boarded.

I couldn't think of a bigger waste of luggage space! Plenty of towels are provided!

There are towels provided. However, they are all just the regular sort of bath size towels, and they are all white. If you want to larger towel for the beach, or something colorful that might help you spot your chair amongst the thousands of chairs on Castaway Cay, a beach towel can be nice.

I don't bring beach towels but I do bring travel bath towels and face towels. This is a personal preference. Travel towels are compact and don't take up much space. But never bulky beach towels! I just take towels from DCL (if on a cruise) or from Disney hotels (if visiting WDW). Have fun planning!!

I personally brought beach towels last time. I like the big old oversized fluffy beach towels that you can wrap around you even if you are Pooh sized, and I found the Disney beach towels lacking compared to my own.

I have brought beach towels as well, one for my small child so I could wrap her up in it after a day on the beach as we made our way to the ship.

I purchase a DCL logo beach towel each cruise. I have a nice collection of them at home. I love using a full sized beach towel at the pool and the beach. It is the first purchase I make as soon as the shops open. Plus they are beautiful!!! Here are just a few that have been sold onboard over the years.

No need to take your own towels

No need to bring them as they are plentiful onboard but if you like a full sized towel then bring one from home or purchase one onboard!!
