A friend of mine has fulfilled a life long dream, and ordered himself a motorcycle. Not just any motorcycle, but a Harley Davidson 100th Anniversary Fat Boy. It arrives early next month.

He's trying to convince me to go for a ride on it with him, but it's been many many years since I've been on a bike, and I'm very nervous about it. I was hoping he'd just let me sit on it, but he says no, it has to be a ride!

What would you do? Would you decline with thanks, and be happy just to touch it? Would you go for the ride, I mean, who knows when this kind of opportunity will come again?

One more thing. If I decide to try it, do I need a new outfit? Leather pants, maybe? ;) :)

Go for it Kim!

Just make sure to wear a helmet please!

And why not go pantless as you usually do :p  :p  ;)

(It will be good for that tan ya know;) )

WOW!

That is my dad's dream to own one of those too!

I say go for it, hold on tight and keep you mouth closed so you don't have topick bugs out of your teeth :teeth:

Take the ride, Kim!

You gonna get a tattoo first??? :teeth:

Don't worry John, it's the law to wear a helmet on a MC in Ontario. I've got the pants now too, not leather, but....;)

Val, I never thought about that, and since I'm likely to have my mouth open in a silent scream, I'll probably end up swallowing them!!

All ya gotta do is sit there, go for the ride. lol

I'm glad you have to wear a helmet.

I only ride with experienced riders. If this guy hasn't riden in awhile I would wait until he's had a chance to get comfortable with the bike.

YEAH BAY--BEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOL! Like Serena said, all ya gotta do is sit there, but I'll throw in, and look sexy! :teeth: Along with the helmet, you'll need some dark sunglasses and a good pair of leather boots. Got long hair? Tie it up or back.

Go for it, Kim. :) That Fatboy looks like a lot of fun! Hold on tight going over bumps! :p ;) :D

I would love it!!!! I wish I knew someone that I could catch a ride with occasionally.

Dh had a bike ( Yamaha, not a Harley) and we sold it because you can't put a car seat on the back of a bike. We have talked about getting a Harley but will probally wait until both boys are adults in case anything happens to us.

DH has one of those. Or I guess his is a Harley Sportster. I'm not exactly up on my Harley knowledge.

In any case, I take a ride with him every now and then just to humor him. I know he gave up years ago thinking I would absolutely love riding on the back of one, but every once in a while it can be fun. Just be sure to go somewhere there isn't a lot of traffic - it can be a lot less fun when you have to weave in and out of traffic.

Enjoy, Kim!

I say, "GO FOR IT!!!". We have a '99 HD Road King Classic. I love riding it with Stephen (don't have my own to operate). The first few times was a little nerve racking, but now, it's just, plain fun. I agree with the experienced rider part. Make sure he is comfortable operating the bike on his own before you get on the back. It really changes how one handles the bike when a rider is on it. When you know for sure he's competent, go and have fun. Leather pants not required. ;)

I personally would take a ride. Just make sure he is an experienced rider, though picking a Harley Davidsion, I would say he has some experience in the MC department.

Go for a ride. Have a great time. :Pinkbounc

Be sure to tell us how your ride went. ;)

Before I had kids I used to ride all the time. Several years ago it was in a wreck and it really hasn't been the same since. It's been in our garage for a long time.

Can you believe I actually rode it up until I had my first baby? Even at 8 months. lol, that was interesting. We used to go everywhere on it, but we did a lot of riding in the middle of the night in Georgia, out on the backroads. It was fun.

Hmmm....I guess I'm going to have to try it! :)

Yes, he's an experienced rider. :)

A tattoo Bernie? Is a temporary one okay, OK? ;)

Saffron, where do I sign up for the "look sexy" lessons you're giving? :smooth: ;) :)
