Should I take a CA cruise?

We are from the east coast, but don't mind flying. We also have a 7-day Eastern booked for Dec. 05. Given the large expense of our Christmas cruise, I am having a hard time talking DH into a June cruise from CA. It does seem like a great trip, but then I hear that the ports of call are not that great. A repositioning cruise is out of the question. I know I can get some great opinions both ways. Please tell me why or why not you think we should go!

Having done both Caribbean and Mexican cruisers - my 2 cents is the Mexican cruise isn't worth it. i don't care for the ports at all.

Now if Disney was doing short 4 day cruises with 3 days at Disneyland we'd book in an instant. Also if/when Disney gets another ship and starts sailing to Alaska - we'd be booking that as well.

The Mexican ports just aren't for us. Would love to do the repositioning but can't afford it in days or dollars.
