Should I Switch to the Dolphin?

We are currently booked at the Swan. I was looking at pictures and it seems the large grotto pool is located at the Dolphin. Is this correct? Is it a long walk in a wet bathing suit with a wet 2 year old back to the Swan?

Also the refillable mugs - are they only refillable at the Dolphin? Are there places to refill them at the Swan?

I am thinking maybe it would be easier to be at the Dolphin. It will be myself, DH and 2 year old daughter. What do you think?

Thanks for any help!

Just came back from the Swan. The 2 are really close. I don't think the few extra steps would make much difference. They were closer than they look in the pictures. Don't know abou the mug question.

Depending on where your room is in the Dolphin, it may even be closer to the Swan!

We walked in under 5 minutes from 1262 in Swan to Tubbi's/laundry/pool areas. Very easy walk.

Don't forget to walk across the road and play a round of mini-golf! The 2 -year old would love it!

And as far as I know the only place you can refill is at Tubbi's, unless that has changed. I usually sent DS over to refill us.

If you can stay in a renovated room on the West Wing of the Dolphin, it might be worth it, but you'll probably be okay at the Swan. We just returned from the Dolphin with 3 yo and 1 yo, and we were on the East side of the Dolphin which is farther away from the pool than some parts of the Swan. If you happen to be far from the pool, you can always bring your stroller. You will definitely want a stroller, just to get to the Boardwalk, Epcot, etc., even if it's just an umbrella stroller. They sell them with a strap that you can throw over your shoulder if you fold it up. Check the Family board for more info.

Thank you everyone for the reassurance!! Glad to hear that they are closer than they appear :Pinkbounc

Having stayed at both the Swan and Dolphin, I prefer the Dolphin more.

It has more of the little conveniences you might be looking for with a family, Tubbi's, the arcade, laundry, etc.

We found it was closer to walk to the Grotto Pool from the Dolphin than the Swan. There are lots of little shortcuts within the Dolphin that make most of the walking indoors in the nice A/C on a hot summer day and out of the sun.

IMHO....I really prefer the dolphin to the swan for many reasons although I think they are both great.

I do agree with some of the other posters in saying that it will almost surely be dependent upon where you were located specifically within each hotel. If I were you I would find out exactly where my room was and how convenient it was to all of the things that will be important to you during your stay.

For specific details be sure to see the Swan/Dolphin thread...it's full of great info.

I hope you have a great vacation!
