Hi guys, coming here b/c I'll get the BEST advise from you all. Currently booked at POFQ, 12/1-12/9 of this year and now considering switching my reservation to the Wilderness Lodge but seriously stuck on whether or not to put out the extra $1000 to do so. Have stayed a both in the past and like each resort for different reasons. What should I do? I guess my main concern is that in the last 6 plus trips we have stayed deluxe and nervous that 9 days at POFQ will disappoint us. Thought of a split stay, which we do often, but that isn't an option this trip. Appreciate any and all feedback! Teresa

I've heard WL is BEAUTIFUL at Christmas time so that leans me into the WL direction. But I guess it's what amenities/perks do you think you might miss and are those amenities/perks worth a grand? A grand is a different amount to different people. I had a friend tell me (when I was debating between value and moderate) to book the cheaper resort and use the money saved for more character dining or dessert parties or what have you.

Thanks so much for your advise. I know I am having such a hard time deciding, we do spend quite a bit of time at the resort, as we come to Disney every 6 months or so. Its such a tough decision.

If the thousand bucks isn't an issue, go for WL. Or...keep your current plans and ask yourself "How could we spend $1000 on our WDW trip that would enhance the experience?" A tour, event such as HDDR, extra souvenirs, a special meal? Helped a lot, didn't I? :earboy2:

I would also echo Micca's post. Plus; you have been to both resorts, so you already know the pros/cons of each and only your family would really know if you think if its worth the extra $$ to change to WL.
I know for us, we would stick with POFQ, plus, I believe POFQ will have been refurbed by then also.

POFQ is my families favorite resort. I just enjoy the feeling there.

I can tell you that POFQ did not disappoint us after several deluxe stays. We enjoyed it, BUT, I would probably kick out the extra grand and pick the WL. I love that resort and at Christmas, it really can't be beat!!

I would say if the money isn't going to hurt, go with WL, it's beautiful during the holidays. We always stay at the Epcot deluxes, lately doing split stays with a day or two at a moderate then moving. We decided 3 weeks before a trip to do the week before Christmas, 4 nights at WDW last year. I couldn't find anything under $500 per night at any of the resorts we normally stay in so we ended up staying at CSR for the entire trip. We didn't mind the room, the fact that there were no hot tubs at the quiet pool sort of bothered me but my son was o.k. with using the one at the main pool since the bar is there but I really hated having to take a bus everywhere. We tend to be at Epcot for a little bit of just about every day, especially at night and having to jump on a bus late at night was hard and not being able to walk to our resort in the middle of the day was a bummer. At WL you can boat to MK and boat to CR then monorail to Epcot (I dislike the monorail, which is why I don't stay at the MK resorts) so you would only have to bus to two parks. No matter where you stay you are going to have to bus to AK and you would have to bus to HS.

We own DVC (BWV), just stayed at POFQ in June with a friend. I loved it! Just got back from WDW for Christmas and NYE. Couldn’t believe how beautiful WL was at Christmas. I would pick WL, just seems so festive for the holidays. But I don’t think either is a bad decision.
