Hey! Time to SELL - need to sell both Dept. 56 Snow Village pieces and I started Isagenix weight loss and nutritional program in December and I am still doing it, but have lots of "extras" that I want to sell. Would it be easier to sell on Ebay or Amazon?

Thanks - Diane

I have sold on ebay for over 10 years and have always had good luck. I also regularly buy from amazon and don't recall ever buying from an individual. I would recommend ebay.

I would look at the fees each charges and go from there. From what I understand ebay just recently ended its free buy it now listings so if you just want to sell and not do an auction you will have yet another fee to pay ebay.
If you have collections of stuff, what about Craigslist?

To be honest, I worry about Craigslist. We also have a local listing on FB but you can only list a few at a time. I may do that for my Department 56 Snow Village stuff but not the Isagenix I have in surplus.

Thanks - Diane

My husband was just working on what it would take/cost to put some of the items that the company he works for on Amazon. The powers that be really wanted to get this done. My husband is the IT guy, CIO. After research he discovered that Amazon's cut is 23%. Needless to say, the project has been dumped. Now, I don't know if the same rates apply for everyone, like I said, this is a company.

If you're not experienced with selling online, I would use eBay. They are geared to the first-timer. Amazon is more for retail businesses looking to sell significant quantities online. For example, Amazon's seller tools assume you have an "inventory" of items, and it's hard to add a listing for a single product. eBay is just easier. Their fees are quite high, too, so I don't think that's a point in favor of either company.

The Isagenix is a restricted item on Amazon so you won't be able to sell that there. Nutritional supplements can only be sold by certain verified sellers.

I think eBay would be easier.
I'll also add that, when I'm looking to buy Dept 56, eBay is my first stop. I do sometimes wander to Amazon, but I'm much more likely to watch pieces on eBay
