Should I request a room?

I just finished renting points from a DVC member for BCV this Sept. We reserved a 2 bedroom dedicated unit. Is there a location or room number I should request for a better view? or are all the views the same?

Do not request a room. Nothing is guaranteed if you request one. Take your chances and go in with a positive attitiude. Your at WDW and everything is great. Never been disappointed with a view yet after 14 trips.

You seriously limit your chance of getting wha t you want if you request a specific room. There might be someone in that room for 10 days or more straddling your stay, and then where would they put you? Request what you want, but not a specific room.

That's just it I don't know what to request. I have never been there. I am asking for anyone who knows what type of view should I request?... Are all the views the same? It doesn't have to be a certain room....

To be honest I don't really care what view I get but I would like to at least try if there is a difference...

As Diane suggests, it's best to keep your requests general. Requests should be listed in the order of importance to you. Most people list their smoking/non-smoking preference first.

Since you are renting, you'll need to ask the member to call MS and have your requests added to the reservation. The DVC resorts have pretty much stopped looking at faxes and go by the info on the reservation.

For BCV, you might want to think about requesting something general like EPCOT view, pool view, upper or lower floor, or close to an elevator. FWIW, it's pretty hard to be disatisfied with a DVC room. I agree with WDWMom, - you'll have a great time no matter what room you stay in.

I always request old turtle pond road. You are close to a pool , out of the hussel and bussel of the front, yet hop on any bus and it will take you to the hosp house. The only time I did not get my request was one of the times I had a GV.

You can also request (or non-request) a handicapped room. I hear conflicting reports on whether handicapped rooms have whirlpools. But most have a roll-in shower with a shower curtain, and lower counters everywhere with fewer cabinets under them for easier wheelchair access. For my family, the loss of cabinets and the whirlpool would be more important than a good view.

Might be kinda hard for them to request Old Turtle Pond Rd at the Beach Club,

The best idea is certainly keep it simple....Epcot view, pool view etc. Here is a link with some room reports and it will give you some view comments. http://members.aol.com/InstImpres/beachclub.pdf
This will give you an idea of “sectional views”. It is extremely difficult to ask for a specific room (as well as trying on the CM’s). With the new room ready policy, guests have reported getting several choices at check-in and this may than help
