I thought the tittle might catch you! LOL!

Should I rent two Pack-n-plays/cribs for my twins? They are(should be by then) in the middle of transfering to big boy/big girl beds. Obviously toddler beds are lower than hotel beds. (I STILL have BAD memories of the monsters trying to grab my feet from under such high beds...:lmao:)

BUT... They HATE Pack-n-plays. I MEAN WILL BLOW A FUSE IF THEY SEE ONE!!! (something to do with time-outs and a first birthday in the park spent in one:rolleyes1) And they will probably feel the same way about a crib if they are successfully sleeping in a bed........SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, opinions?

Why not just use air mattresses on the floor? If you can get a hotel room with a king-sized bed, then there'll be plenty of room for 2 twin or 1 full air mattress.

Hope that helps,
Rose

I know once my kids were in big girl beds, nothing would get them back into a crib. We tried once at Grandma's... it did NOT go over well. And if they already hate the pack and play, well, it sounds like you know what will happen then. It seems like they're too young to worry about the monsters (although everyone knows the only monsters at WDW are Mike and Sully, and they don't scare kids anymore :rotfl:).

My biggest concern at that age would be falling out of bed. We just ask for extra pillows or blankets to put on the floor next to the bed and tuck the kids in under the sheet. Seriously, who can escape a tightly tucked hotel sheet? :lmao:

You could buy two at Walmart are your way to the hotel or even send some down ahead of time to your hotel.I am sure you could maybe rent them too. My son just stopped sleeping with a bed rail last year at age ten, because he is such a restless sleeper. They always worked for us, folded flat for storage too.

If you are staying at a disney hotel you can request bedrails on your reservation. They are only a request and not guaranteed but we have been lucky enought to get one each time we requested it. Housekeeping will have these. In some rooms the beds are fixed to the floor but others will allow you to push it up against the wall as well.

If they are still in cribs, you can rent full sized ones from abbf.com (although two full sized cribs might be a bit cramped!).

I kept DDs in cribs until they were over 3 (one was just 3 and one was almost 4). On the advice of their ped., unless they were climbing out, I left them in as long as possible (save yourself!). I felt much better that DD#2 slept in a pack n play at our resort because she was contained!

Have a great trip!

The Disney resorts will all supply bedrails. So assuming you aren't taking up both beds in the room, you can just call and have them make a notation on your reservation that you need them for one of the beds. My 2 year old loved sleeping in the big bed at Disney. (We could not have done a pack n play as she was past the weight limit and as there is no way she would have agreed to it). Our DD was already sleeping in a twin at home and thought she had hit the big time getting to sleep by herself on a queen at WDW. However, in saying that, you should know that the toddler bed only lasted a week at our house and we got rid of it and switched to a twin with bedrails. DD started climbing out of her crib the week of her 2nd birthday. We converted her crib to a toddler bed. Our 1st indication there was going to be trouble was when she got excited and said "Daddy's putting in a door". She would not stay in the toddler bed at night. She came in our room several times every night and tried to get in bed with us. We would take her back to her room and 30 minutes later, she was back trying to get in bed with us. She told us our bed was better, warmer, more comfortable etc. The toddler bed was just too close to the floor for her. As opposed to the way you felt, I think she actually felt more secure being higher as it was more similar to being in a crib (plus I think it was definitely colder that close to the floor). After a week of no sleep we gave up and went out and bought her a twin bed with a decent mattress and bedrails. Imagine our surprise when she started sleeping through the night again from the very first night we put her in it. Now, even though she has no trouble getting in and out of her bed, if she wakes up during the night and wants us, she calls for us to come in her room instead of coming into ours.

We used the bedrails at POP.
They worked out fine....:thumbsup2

we have also rented toddler beds from abbf.com

It depends where you are staying and how big the room would be.

if they do not like PnPs then I wouldn't even attempt it. Why risk them freaking out & climbing out (potentially getting hurt). last year we rented a toddler bed from abbf and it woulked out pretty well. DS would end up climbing in bed with us, but most of the time he was in his toddler bed. I'm trying to determine what to do this year, he's too big for a toddler bed and he does NOT sleep when someone else is in the bed with him. I'm just hoping he's so exhausted from all the fun that he crashes & doesn't notice me sleeping next to him! Good luck!

I'd just get bed rails. We're bringing some along. If your kids won't sleep in the pack n plays then they probably won't sleep when you're on vacation and/or they'd be in bed with you. Get the bed rails and make life easier on yourself. :)
