I've never been to Universal or IOA but we are taking our first trip in 2 weeks. My daughter meets the 40 inch height requirement, but do you think Spiderman, and the Jimmy Neutron rides are too intense for a 4 year old?:confused3

If she is familiar with jimmy neutron then I think it will be fine but spiderman is 3D and has the villans jumping out at you and some kids get scared by that and the first time my youngest DS rode it he was 9 and spiderman is his favorite super hero but now he won't go on it cause it scared him when the villians jumped out.
Its a judgement call if you think she can handel it then it should be fine and just explaine to her that this happens and she if she still wants to ride it.
hope this helps and have a great time:thumbsup2

What about the flying unicorn and woody's nuthouse coaster? Can anyone compare these to the Barnstormer at Disney cause my daughter loves the barnstormer?

I think Jimmy Neutron will be fine...Spiderman will be iffy. But you know your daughter better than us. Maybe you can find a ride-thru video on you-tube to get a better idea of some of the things encountered. It's a dark ride, so if she has a problem with that, it might not be the best choice.

I haven't been on Barnstormer in ages, but I think Woody's is fairly similar. I consider Flying Unicorn a step up from kiddie coasters, but it's obviously not comparable with the other 2 big coasters. The track tilts to the left and right fairly steeply in a few places which bothers some people (I think the track looks a lot worse than it feels). I've had friends go to the parks who had no problem with the big drops on rides, but refused to go on the Flying Unicorn! But not to scare you, it's really not that bad(all in their heads!), I think she'd be ok with it (it would be a good judge how she'd like the bigger coasters in the coming years when she's tall enough). It's a much better bet than Spiderman I believe.

Woody's Coaster is exactly a mirror opposite of Barnstormer (like when you turn right out of the station at Barnstormer, you turn left at Woody). It's the exact same height and speed. Unicorn is a tad longer (like maybe 15 seconds longer) and a tad higher.

My daughter is 4 and a very cautious girl. She loves Spider-Man though so she tried the ride. The movement of the ride did not bother her but she did find the villains to be too scary and will not ride again.

Jimmy Neutron is a motion theater. The theater is broken into segments and move in sync with the on screen 3D action.

Spiderman is a tough call. My son, who was 5 on our trip, is a huge fan so we rode it. He was okay, but the villains are pretty intense. It's one of those things that I'm glad we did so he doesn't think he missed something, but I think he'll enjoy it more when he's older.

There are a bunch of ridethru videos posted on YouTube. Here's one of Spiderman: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=35CSHdMo_0c
and one of Jimmy Neutron: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DpDfxzYKkfo

It might ruin some of the surprise for you, but it'll give you a better idea if it will be something your daughter will enjoy.

My DD rode all except woody our first trip(JN was HB then but ride really didn't change just the theming). She loved FU but wouldn't go near woody. Next trip she loved woody too. She's always love spiderman. Rode it many times 1st trip even falling asleep 1x.

From what the OP has posted I would say Woody, FU and JN are 100% a go
Spiderman might be iffy. Keep an eye on travel channel for the behind the scenes special on IOA. that IMHO made spiderman do-able for DD the first trip. Think Dinosaur ride vehicle with HISTA or ITTBAB movie effects.

How high does Flying unicorn go and about how fast? It would be great if someone could compare it to something at disney since I've never been to US or IOA!

According to wikipedia (sorry it won't let me link because of my post count. Just search for its name there), it's 42 ft high and 28mph top speed.

I haven't been to Disney in a while...maybe I'd put it in the same category as Thunder Mountain? Would other people agree?

I've heard it compared to space mountain as far as speed/height, but remember that FU isn't in the dark, and you can sit next to your child.
Sorry I don't have specifics

BTMRR= 50 ft high, 36MPH ,2780ft long

Goofy's Barnstormer=35ft hight,25MPH

Space Mt= 3186-3196ft (the 2 track are different lenghts), 65ft hight, 27 MPH

I can't find info on Woody's.

Looking at the above info FU is somewhere between GBS and SM

My 2 year old LOVES the Flying Unicorn and the Woody coaster. She should be fine on those. Jimmy Neutron is pretty mild. You can always sit in the stationary seats first to give her a look at the ride. If she's okay with it, which she probably will be, you can sit in the motion seats. Spiderman is pretty intense. That you'll have to gauge based on her personality. To me, it sounds like she'll love it.
