We have sailed on Celebrity and Royal Caribbean several times and I have never been disappointed, although we have liked to food better on Celebrity. We are planning a cruise for college winter break. DH doesn't care which ship or which line. DS#4 would love to go on the Oasis. Of course its new, its filling up and the prices on the other ships are considerably lower with a bit better itineraries. I have no particular desire to chose a cruise based only on the itinerary since most of the time on vacation is aboard the ship. Is the Oasis THAT much better or would you enjoy the Liberty of the Seas as well. We have sailed the Voyager and the Explorer.

Dawn - if you've never been over there before, for any thing cruise worthy non-DIS, cruisecritic.com is a great place to research cruises.

I just sailed on the Liberty last Nov and she is a beautiful ship. I like the Freedom too (out of Port Canaveral - you could get a day or 2 at Disney ;)) We cruise pretty often and so I like to wait out the high prices on the new ships. But I am sure the Oasis is a fun experience! As the poster above said go over to cruisecritic.com They have every bit of info on both ships. Enjoy - I am jealous as we don't have a cruise in the works right now!

I have been there over the years and in fact was there this week and asked. No answer yet. I know there was a recent thread here on Oasis, so I thought I would go fishing here too. Thanks however.

We are also Celebrity people, love that line.:goodvibes Have you done the Solstice class yet? Our favorite.

Enough about me.....I simply refuse to pay top dollar to cruise on a ship because it is new. For that reason, we held off the Freedom class (until next week that is :)) waiting for the prices to come down. We were rewarded with a Junior Suite for $1199. Had we tried for that ship when it first sailed, the cabin would have been close to twice the price. So if it was me, I would choose the Freedom class and save a chunk of change.

PS at www.cruise.com , they give the gratuity tips as a bonus for RCI and X.

If it were just DH and I, I would definitely head to the Solstice. I prefer Celebrity for so many reasons. My thinking here is that DS will probably find more college age people on the Oasis to hang out with than he would on a Celebrity ship. I think our last cruise was during a similar time frame or in March, I can't remember, and we found fewer younger people on the Millineum at that time.

I just booked a week at Shades of Green for March.

We had friends that went on the Oasis in July and other friends that went in August, they both RAVED about their trip.

Lucky girl!!!!

What week in March? My parents are taking my DS and my niece March 19 (I think that is right) on the Liberty for a graduation gift trip. How I wish I was going too. But this is just the 2 oldest kids with grandparents trip. The rest of us have been told we are not invited! I think they are enjoying rubbing it in as much as they will the trip!

We are going to Disney in March and the cruise Jan 8th or 8th.

Dawn, I was suggesting Freedom, not Solstice!:thumbsup2

(I probably didn't word it understandably)

I have heard nothing but glowing reports about the Oasis. My kids want to try it, I think we will in the summer of 2012. We are going on a different one this coming up summer.

Let us know how it goes.

Was just on Oasis 3 wks ago- LOVED it.. even though I paid more then I would of for freedom, I still paid less for Oasis then I would of disney line.
my whole family enjoyed the boat even though Earl changed our trip plans we had a blast!
I can't compare to other RCI lines though that was our first experience with them and we would go again in a heart beat...
Not sure I could go on a smaller ship now...lol.. but if convinced I might give freedom a whirl.

I am 90% in the Oasis bag right now. I am waiting until tomorrow to make the deposit....so it won't seem like an impulse purchase. ;)

LOVED - Oasis, we just went in June and had a fantastic time. The ship is amazing. We did pay more then the other ships, but it is such an experience. We have also sailed Royal Caribbean VOS - plus we did a Disney cruise a couple of years ago, which I thought was so overpriced.

We just returned from NCL's new ship, The Epic. We booked Oasis for April break - will be interesting for us to compare. Have been on both lines before. I do have to say The Epic was pretty spectacular.

Ohhh lucky! I keep trying to talk my DH into a cruise but he seems to want no part of it. Please let me know how it is when you get back, maybe some ammunition could help me make a good case for it;)

I'd love to try the Oasis :thumbsup2!!! We did the Liberty for our 45th annv, it's a beautiful ship (more like a floating resort ;) ) and we had a wonderful time! I can imagine the Oasis is only better w/zip line, aqua theatre, etc.! We were considering the future Allure arriving in Dec. for next fall, but not sure now as have done that itinerary, so may give Princess a try. :goodvibes

We've had best prices for years with the site Muushka mention. They offer discounts for military, firemen, seniors, etc., lots of times throw in the tips too! They're usually less expensive for us than going thru actual cruise site. Good luck! Sounds fun!! :flower3:
