Dh is no help so I'm coming to the Dis'ers.

Here is the break down.

$1375 = room , park hoppers, and food (5 days 2 adults 6/5-6/9)

Ordering everything separately =

$516 - Room
$518 - park hopper
-----------------
$1038 total (not including food)

It's a difference of $341 which averages out to $34 per day pp.

We already know we want to go to BOMA for Dinner ($54 for 2 adults) and Crystal Palace Breakfast Buffet ($38 for 2 adults)

I'm so confused! Please help

Since the ddp is $37/day, you would have to average more than $37/day on food to come out ahead with the ddp. It's a tough call to determine how you will eat for a week way in advance. Take a look at the scenarios:

Day #1
Crystal Palace bfast: $14
Counter Service: $12
Snack: $4
= $30 (you would not come out ahead with the ddp)

Day #2
CS Bfast or lunch: $14
BOMA dinner: $27
Snack: $4
= $45 (you would come out ahead with the ddp)

Don't forget about the dining surcharges that are being applied during June now. That might tip the scales in the favor of the dining plan.

Crystal Palace breakfast is $18.99 as per allears.net I wish I could get a breakfast buffet at Disney for 14. You never come out ahead with breakfast at TS restaurants though.

Go for the dining plan - especially since you are going without children and can really take advantage of the nicer restaraunts. We've done the math 100 different ways and the dining plan always comes out on top. You will get 30% off your "big meals." You have so many options when meals are tied to credits and not dollars. We are going Deluxe Dining Plan knowing that although we may "waste" some meals by not getting to them, we will not waste money. Last time we went, we ate burgers and fries most of the time and spent the same amount of money as my sister's family who had the plan and could eat nice table service meals. ESPECIALLY since you aren't taking children - GO FOR IT!!!

I say go for the plan. We are two adults and I was going to try it this time without for the first and found myself planning my ADR's around places just because they cost less and not where I really wanted to eat. So I took out the deluxe dining plan and now plan on some room service meals, select places and more table service which as two adults we find more relaxing. Now other than the tip I don't have to worry about that expense when we get there.

This is the first time I've heard of "dining surcharges" what is that?

I found a post about the peak time surcharges. It looks like it won't affect us seeing as it end on june 5....hopefully
