We're going in the beginning of February.

Last time I was stupid & made every ressie for DTD, except BB. I vowed I'd only eat IN the parks in the future. It was just hard to run & make it in time.

We're interested in Steakhouse 55 (DLH) & BB again...plus Cafe Orleans. Do you NEED a ressie for CO? Is there often a wait?? Other than those three I figured we'd wing it. There's Mimi's & we will have food w/ us as well.

If anyone has the ressie number, I'd be very appreciative! :worship:

Cafe Orleans is a p.s. restaurant. You can make a p.s. 60 days out. Disney Dining is 1-714-781-3463.

We ate at Cafe Orleans about 5 PM on a Thursday afternoon/evening on 12/10 and had about a stated 5 minute wait (I think it was in reality less than that). From your dates, I don't think it will be horribly crowded.

I like to be flexible, so I would probably not make the reservation for CO, but keep an eye on the boards here. If late January/the very first couple days of February appear to be unusually crowded, it still will probably not be too late to make a reservation on the phone. (Really, with walls around the Rivers of America, I don't think the Cafe Orleans will be too busy anyway, as there won't be a lovely view outdoors. I might personally consider the Carnation Cafe instead, especially if you're doing BB, as there's some overlap in the food at CO and BB.)

That said, I know there's no REAL harm in making a reservation. I know I just hate being tied down and HAVING to be somewhere at a certain time!

One neat trick someone here did was to put the Disney Dining number in his/her cell phone. When there was a wait at Cafe Orleans, he/she just called Disney Dining, got a reservation, and was able to make a reservation for shortly after the call was placed.

Thanks Gisele!!!

Eva - GREAT cell phone tip! I agree also about CO vs BB, we'll probably go w/ something different because of that. I need to read Carnation Cafes menu... I just plan on getting that Monte Cristo when I go no matter where I eat! It MUST happen.

YES!!!!! :lovestruc You have great taste!

I've heard almost nothing but good things about the Carnation Cafe and their baked potato soup looks heavenly. We don't do table-service very often and ended up at Cafe Orleans which was so delicious. (I was shocked that my picky friend even enjoyed the Pommes Frites!)

I'd make the CO reservation, personally.

But if you end up near there earlier than your PS and there's a wait shorter than the time until your res, cancel the PS and make a walkup arrangement. We decided we were hungry about 30 minutes before our PS...the wait for walkup was 20 minutes. If we kept the PS, we'd go up 30 minutes later and then have to wait longer...so we just made a walkup arrangement.

Only problem was that they didn't transfer the "it's my birthday and I want my birthday beignets darnit" mention on my called in PS, and we had the absolute worst service we've had, nearly ever, anywhere. DH ended up having a chat with the manager, got our bill cut nearly in half, etc etc.

But I don't hitnk that service had anything to do with changing the PS. :)

Anyway, I'd make it, but remain flexible!

I'm with Molly, I'd make the PS. We've done both, had a PS and did a walk up, it's definitely easier to get in if you have a PS. Enjoy, the Pomme Frites are sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good!! :)
