Should I make party favors for birthday party?

DD is turning 7 this weekend. She is having a small party where the girls will pick out a pottery item to paint, and then the store will put it in the kiln and the girls will be able to pick up their item later in the week. There are four girls in addition to my DD. Should I still do a party favor bag? Thank you gift? Or just the pottery item?

My DD's pottery party in was one of my favorites!

We did not do additional party favors. We dropped off the completed pottery later in the week.

I would probably send them home with a simple favor bag, but that's just me. I'd also pick up and deliver the pottery to everyone.

You could do a little bag with a fun pencil & some candy.

I would make up bag as well. Nothing too expensive. Kids at that age still like goody bags, even if their parents do not!

While I do feel like pottery is enough... I would still do bags.... I just like doing them

I would pick up and deliver the finished pieces and I would probably do goody bag too.

It is nice for the guest to have something when they leave. Especially since there are not a lot of them. Last year, I made chocolate covered pretzel sticks that I covered with sprinkles and put two in a bag (found at Party City) and tied with pretty ribbon. Cost about $10 for all the supplies and they looked great!

I just did a party just like this last week, and skipped the goody bags. The kids each painted a $14-15 pottery, and had juice, ice cream, and a cupcake. Plus, I gave all of my son's classmates each a Lego StarWars or Friends pack that I got 90% off at Target because we can't do edible treats, but ones the birthday kid shares with the class (3 of the boys at the party are in his class), which left 4 others. Really, though, I feel like enough is enough. If anything, an edible treat or balloon is plenty. I am also delivering the pottery with a thank you.
