:wave2: Hi everyone,
I've made a 2 AD's and we have the 10 day pkg. My dh doesn't want me to make all AD's cause "we'll be rushed and worried about getting to the restaurants in time." I'm worried we won't get a sit down meal if I don't have AD's? We're staying at WL, do they have counter service there as well?
:listen: Advice please & thankyou! :sunny:

First of all, yes there is counter service at WL. But IMHO, it is not very good. We found the food to me mediocre, the place too small, dark and kinda smelly.

As far as ADRs .. you are going in Jan: it's not the busiest time. If you don't mind waiting and/or dining at odd hours, you would probably be ok except at the most popular places like Le Cellier and character meals. But if it were me, I would plan a few more. There is also the option of calling that day from your room before you leave for the park.

At that time of year, the parks close early, so actually dinners are easy to plan based on that. You know, for exaample, AK closes at 5, so on that day, make an ADR for 7 at the resort restaurant of your choice.

Make them!!!

You don't have to make them for every night, but you should really make them for most of the nights you're there. There is nothing worse than walking around getting turned away from every TS place or being told there's a two-hour wait for a table.

We went for 7 nights, and had ADR's for 4 of them, but we were only two adults, so some nights we just took our chances or ate around the F & W Festival. If you're going with kids, DEFINITELY make the ADR's. You won't feel rushed; if anything, you'll feel relieved because you don't have to think about where to go for dinner.

WL has a counter-service restaurant called Roaring Forks, but while it's convenient, you don't really want to do dinner there. If you're stuck at WL, either go to the bar next to Artist Point and get a bunch of small dishes, or order room service.

Make the ADR's - you don't have to tell him until he's whining about how hungry he is and doesn't think there's anywhere to have dinner!

(if you don't plan on using them, definitely cancel!)

I agree completely with joll43; make the ADR's and cancel them if you do not intend to use them. DH will be VERY CRANKY if he can't get a nice meal when he wants one because YOU :goodvibes didn't make an ADR.

Roaring Forks is OK for Breakfast. That's about it for me...

I wouldn't risk not having an ADR for each day myself. I saw too many unhappy people being turned away from restaurants in April & Aug this year. When I tried to reschedule some of ours when we were down there, we had problems doing so. This is esp. important for the more popular meals & times.

As far as Roaring Forks, it's ok for a snack or a quickie lunch or something. I would be disappointed trying to make a dinner there.

I totally agree...you will be sick of Roaring Forks within a couple of days. I think that with the dining plan being so popular, that even in January you should make a few more ADR's just in case. Ten days is a long time to eat counter service... ;)

For my next trip i just made 3 ADR's Crystal Palace, Chef's Mickey and Le Cellier, we are going for 9 days, the reason i didnot made any more is becuase we are a Breakfast people and we rather eat a huge breakfast at a TS and have a late lunch at any CS, and we do not like to leave wathever we are dong in order to fullfil our reservatrion for us is more important to do wahtever we want to do instead of rushing to have dinner just because we have reservations, thats not works for us

Thank you to all of you for the great advice!!!
What I was thinking about doing is waiting till Jan park hours are out and then we know which park we'll be at. Maybe that will work! :flower:

Make the ADRs. You can always cancel them when you're on site and find that you're running behind schedule (or find somewhere else to eat).

I'm debating this decision myself. We are going 12/16 - 12/21 (party of 3). The only time I made ADR's (didn't they used to be called PS's?) was when I went with a party of 8. We usually eat a big breakfast then a TS for a late lunch/early dinner. I definately felt like we had to get to the restaurant last time and had to plan around that. I've been thinking I didn't like doing that. So may wing it this year! Although the idea of being turned away and spending who knows how long looking for somewhere to eat does not appeal to me either! Decisions, decisions!!
