Should I make a request?

Hi:

We are off to AKL Kidani village in four days and staying in a two bedroom savanna view villa.

Two individuals in our party have heart defects; my best friend and her daughter. Lots of walking will definitely cause edema for them.

I am growing concern with all of the walking they obviously will be doing especially at the resort, since AKL is known to be spread out. But I am also concern that if I make a request for our room we may not get a great view of the animals. And we all are really interested in having the animal viewing be good.

If I go ahead and make this request, what should I ask for? I will definitely let the CM know it is for a medical reason but should I just let Disney decide from there? What would you do?

Have you or they considered getting a scooter? Walking a lot and Disney go hand in hand.

The savannah view villas that are near the lobby area at Kidani have had excellent animal viewing in our experience.

Request close to lobby or community hall (those are close to the same request). Viewing is fine there including because on either side of the lobby there is a nearby feeding area that attracts animals when food is placed there.

The potential walk to lobby, bus stop, store, pool etc if you are far from lobby and near end of the wings should be avoided if there are health concerns. If you have not been to Kidani yet, you do not yet know how long a walk it can be. I am sure you have probably been to Epcot. Picture yourself at the base of World Shoawcase after just coming over the walkway from Future World and you are on the sidewalk standing between the two stores that are in that area. Now walk to Germany; that is about the distance from the lobby to the end rooms on the north wing at Kidani.

Walks in Kidani can be quite long. The one thing that can affect that is whether or not you are getting a rental car or using WDW transportation. With a car it is less of an issue because you can park under the building near your room and take the nearest stairway. Safe bet would be to request to be near the elevators off of the lobby. From our experience there aren't a lot of savanna rooms that don't have a good view.

Thank you! I just called and made the request so now to cross our fingers (more for my friend not finding herself needing the room closer) but at least I have done everything in my power to help the situation.
Thank you again!
