Should I make a Costco run?

Hello all fellow Disney friends!
This is my first post asking for advice.

Eleven of us (6 adults/5 kids) will be going to Disney World at the end of November. We are all very excited! I haven't been in 8 years - way too long!

We were thinking of making a Costco run to buy milk and cereal for the mornings for 2 reasons: 1) to save a little money & 2) to start the day off quickly.

Here's where I need your advice.
Is this something that people do?

If yes, then how do people do it when they don't have a car.
Rent one, I suppose? But for only a day?

Any ideas?

If you have any other fun advice for us, we'd appreciate it. We're staying at the CB Resort.

Thanks,
Gretchen:wave:

We have been to Disneyworld several times. Costco is fine if you want to but a bushel of bran flakes or a tanker of milk. If you have a car, go out (I forget the hwy) by Celebration. There is a Publix market on the left side. More like a Safeway and you won't worry about buying too big a box and having to toss the excess when you leave. There is a market in the shopping center near Downtown Disney but their prices are a bit high.

Check the phone book for Publix. These are the stores where the residents shop.

One item I loved was the fresh "Florida" orange juice. Quart bottles fit the refrig. at the Villas nicely. :smooth:

Welcome Gretchen !
what many people do is take a Towncar in from the airport, and arrange for the driver to stop at the Publix on the way into the resort:)

Why not pack some of those individual boxes of cereal in your luggage, and buy milk at the food court in your resort. You could also take other snack items, fruit snacks, peanut butter and crackers, etc. With 11 people travelling you will be allowed a LOT of luggage on a plane, and you could fill a suitcase with food on the way down, and souvenirs on the way back. We are going in December and I am taking a collapsible cooler ($9 at Sams) as my carryon, and stuffing it with cereal and snacks for our family so we can spend our food $$ on good meals. Good luck on your trip.

We do the same thing - suitcase with food going down and souvenirs coming back. Nutrigrain bars work great and you can eat them on the run-and get them at Costco! We also take some plastic bowls and spoons with us for the cereal.
