Should I link resort reservation to MDE, and if so, how?

Everyone else going on the trip has date-based tickets, and they all appear in MDE. For the first time in many years, I bought an AP, but it's not yet "activated" (but it, too, is in my MDE). We're a few days inside our 60 day window, and I can't figure out if/how I should check in? In the past I did it on MDE, but it seems that I had to call MS first, something about the reservation number? Or should I do on line check in on the DVC website?

If you have a room reservation through DVC, you'll need to link it manually in MDE. You'll need the confirmation number of the DVC reservation from the DVC site. I go into the web version for Disney/MDE, My Plans, Resort Hotel, Link Reservation. You'll enter the info there, and it should then show your room in MDE. Once the reservation is recognized in MDE, you should be able to book ADRs. If you do online check-in, do it through MDE or the DisneyWorld web site - not DVC.

That link redirects to MDE. As the PP said, you need to manually link your DVC reservation to your MDE account in order to complete online check in.

Yes, I'm all checked in now! First, I did what you said and went to the members' website to get my confirmation number. And right there was a link to the web version. I put in the reservation #, then out of curiosity I picked up my iPhone and sure enough-my reservation was listed on the front page (it hadn't been) along with an invitation to start checking in.
