Does anyone have anything good to say about Shutters? We are going in November and have ADRs at Shutters on our Sea World day. We are staying at CBR and I thought it would be easier to eat here after our long day at Sea World. The park closes at 6 and we have ressies at 8. Should I keep Shutters or try somewhere else? And if I try somewhere else where would be convient on our way back from Sea World to eat?:confused3

Did you read the DIS blog on Shutters today? Yikes!

We haven't eaten there, but during our stay at CBR few years ago every time we walked by the place was half empty, and this was during FD. Nothing on the menu looked that great to us, and friends who have eaten there have told me it's just OK.

Maya Grill at Coronado Springs is good and is usually not booked up. Same for the Wave at Contemporary, and Grand Floridian Cafe.

If you have a car for Sea World just drive over, if not take a resort bus from any park or DTD, though the DTD option is often slow due to long waits for the bus. Raglan Road at DTD is pretty good too.

The DIS blog is what has me concerned. We do have a car and I was actually thinking about the Maya Grill. We already have ADR s at Grand Floridian. So do you think DTD is not do able?

I've found that I agree with 95%+ of Kevin's reviews. Given how bad that experience was, I wouldn't go near the place.

There are so many other good restaurants to try at WDW that there is no reason to go there. You may want to read the dining reviews here when trying to decide. :disrocks:

I've been to Shutters three times with very mixed results. Based on Kevin's review, I would say things have NOT improved for the better and I would steer clear of it. You really could easily pull into the parking lot of any resort or even DD on your way home from Sea World--eat--hop back in the car and return to CBR.

Where can I find this blog? I would love to read it.

Ok thanks you guys. Would you pick Maya Grill or Olivia's? Quality and convience.

We at at Shutter's in 2004 and really liked it, I am sure it has changed since then.
We ate at Maya Grill twice in 2009 and really enjoyed it, we were really impressed and mad at ourselves for not trying it in previous stays at CSR. Anytime we stay at CSR in the future we will definitely be going to Maya Grill. So based on that and the blog review of Shutters, I would go with Maya Grill.

In my above post I only meant that using DTD as a bus transfer point is a less desirable option. Since you have a car it's a moot point.

Raglan Road at DTD is very good. T-Rex or Rainforest Cafe are decent, but the same as you get anywhere in the USA and not on the Dining Plan. For CS at DTD Earl of Sandwich is good, and we love Wolfgang Puck Express (the one in the Marketplace near the Christmas shop) for any meal. There are two WPE, the Marketplace location has a more extensive menu.

Kevin's review is on the front page of the boards up top under DIS site updates. You will have to scroll down a little.
One of the servers from Shutters replied to Kevin's review.
I wish I could find someone else who has eaten there recently.

I second (or third) Maya Grill. We ate there years ago and I thought it was very good with an interesting but not inaccessible menu.

I haven't tried Shutters, but the menu *sounds* good. The review was frightening, though, so I'd be curious to see what others have to say.

ate at Maya Grill in January...superb food & awesome decor. Review on post 34 & 35, with pictures of food:

went to Olivia's last September...we enjoyed that too...
review on post 104, also with pictures:

can't go wrong with either of those, but I'd give the edge to Maya Grill for decor & strolling guitar player. Olivia's, though good food & service, is just generic Disney resort-restaurant decor, same ol' same ol'.

I've eaten at Maya Grill several times, Olivia's twice, and Shutter's once. I'd go with Maya Grill. Olivia's was pretty good, but Maya Grill was better. I haven't been to Shutters in about three years, but remember the food and service being really bad.:sad2:

I feel sorry for the server who posted a reply to the review. It seems like he takes pride in his work. I hope he can make improvements to Shutters or find another venue for his work. I can only imagine how he must feel.

We ate at Shutters 2 weeks ago and it was really bad. My steak was black on the outside and red in the middle. The desserts were standard fair. The ceasar salad was good.

Check out the DIS Unplugged podcast episode from last week. There's a pretty extensive review of Shutters on it.
