Should I keep my Cali grill brunch reservation?

Trying to justify the price still, what would you do?

You can order more than 1 entree if that helps to make your decision. I, personally, can't wait! There are 4 of us going. I know there are other brunch restaurants on property that are a little less expensive if that would ease your mind a bit. Sorry, I'm not helping. What would I do? I would keep it. But, on the other hand, you can go to 2 restaurants for the price of one meal there. So, if you can get a reservation, you could always go somewhere else for brunch and then do another breakfast/lunch/dinner on another day.

We cancelled a couple of times before we actually went. But when we did go, it was one of our better dining experiences. But the price certainly makes us think. It's pretty much 300 Canadian dollars. Booked for this January but not sure if we will go. But again, it was one of our better dining experiences.

If I were with a group of adults I wouldn’t think twice about it. It’s just my 9yr old daughter and I. If i see unlimited mimosas it might be trouble for me, lol. I know you can order more than one entree, and I know the food will be unbelievable. I’m thinking of keeping it for the experience? I still have a couple weeks to think it over!

If it’s on dec. 8 you should definitely cancel, and give me a heads up lol... but seriously, I love this meal and go every trip I take since it became available. We’ve always been on the ddp though. We wouldn’t pay oop for it but it is definitely worth 2 credits.

Lol, no not in December, we’ll be there in August. I guess I should stop complaining, I do have TIW which helps.

My knee-jerk reaction is to say cancel if price and expectations are tied. I went with another adult for my birthday meal. We enjoyed the buffet, entrees, but were too full for the pastries. The whole, "you can order other entrees" thing is a little misleading because one, or two half portions, is more than enough after the buffet offerings. Man, we were SO FULL. Service wasn't great. He was absent for much of the meal and it took quite a while for our entrees to come, after we had finished with the buffet selections. He said to tell him when to put the order in but he didn't show up for a loooong time. Drinks weren't refilled, as a result. He was attentive at the very beginning, and at the very end for coffee, dessert plate, and bill. He did apologize but, sheesh, lots of tables were empty in our area.
Just know that it might not be an OVERALL excellent experience. I don't regret it because my dining companion was awesome and the food was delicious.

It's one of my favorite meals on property. The food is plentiful and I always walk out stuffed. The views are great too. I would recommend trying it at least once to form your own opinion of the restaurant. The food there is really delicious. I have reviews in a few of my dining reports in my signature.

That does make a huge difference. Will you get your money's worth out of it and will she enjoy the experience? Would it be a better experience for her to take that money and do something else with it? Do Caring for Giants at Animal Kingdom. A dessert party. Something that she might enjoy more.

We attempt to keep an ADR at CG's brunch every trip we go. I've learned that an WDW arrival date on Sundays is not conducive to eating a meal there so either ensure we arrive on a different day of the week or that the overall trip has more than one Sunday. I've been there on adults' only trips as well as trips with children who ranged in ages from 8 to 14 y/o; it's definitely child friendly.
Our regular scheduled activities before the brunch is to do as many thrill rides as possible at MK then walk over to the Contemporary. I try to get a reservation as close to closing time as possible (don't worry they replenish the appetizer buffet regularly) since it makes sense for us based on how we eat. Most of the children we travel with are light morning eaters so a earlier fruit based start at a QS or CL works fine for our day's agenda.

When we do brunch there all are generally full enough that we do nothing for dinner or just snack which helps to justify the meal's cost. The food offered suits even the pickiest eaters and is made with quality ingredients and a kitchen staff that know what they are doing. No steam pans of eggs and such; the entrees are cooked to order.

We had the brunch this afternoon and it was incredible. We have eaten almost everywhere on property except V and A and my wife and I agreed that this was the best meal we have ever had on property. Go hungry and dont schedule anything else that afternoon. It is an experience to be enjoyed without a time limit.

everyone has different tastes and I was most excited about this reservation in our Sept 2018 trip but it was very disappointing, I found the food just ok, it took like 2 1/2 hours, and we had to BEG to sit at a window when the restaurant was 80% empty, it was our anniversary and we were one of the first parties of the day, so it was odd that we had to beg.
I had ordered a specialty cake and had to ask repeatedly for it which it was suppose to be a surprise for my husband, lets not even go into the way the waiter packaged the cake for us to go, it was ruined when we got back to the resort (VGF)

IT was a one and done for us..

I agree on the seating. They were very weird about this. Plenty of window tables but they tell you they were already pre- assigned to others (who weren't there yet). Not cool.

But I disagree on everything else. Service amazing as was the food. It’s SUPPOSED to be a 2-3 hr thing- and you want it to be because there’s unlimited champagne!!!
