Should I keep Crystal Palace dinner ADR on evening I land?

We are flying into MCO around 3 p.m. and have 7:30 ADR's at Crystal Palace for that evening. Initially, I had hopper passes for 7 days but purchased another day just so we could go to MK on our first evening for dinner and maybe some rides. Now I'm wondering if I'm stretching us thin by trying to get from the airport to POFQ for check-in and then to MK. (We will be there July 5-13)

It will be me, DH and 9 yr old son for our first WDW trip so we will be excited!

What are your thoughts?

If it closes late enough for you to go on a few rides after dinner, then I might go for it. You won't be charged anything if you can't get to CP on time, so you could always give it your best shot. How much did it cost to add the extra day? If it's a minimal amount, I might just go to enjoy the "first night" atmosphere. I would think you could do it if you were going during slow season. Even if it took you 1-2 hours to get done at the airport, get to WDW, and get to your room, you'd still have a little bit of time in the MK before your ADR. Depends on what your expectations are, and how crowded the MK is. Also depends on if you are taking ME, or if you have to pick up your own luggage, if you are getting a rental car, etc. I would post the details and ask people how long it took them to get settled into their room during the same time of year, with the same transportation, etc.
Hope it works out for you!

We're staying at the Poly, arriving July 10, and although we land at MCO at noon, we're planning to do exactly what you're doing: heading to CP for dinner and then maybe a couple of rides (and Spectromagic if the kids last that long!). I think it's fun to do CP on the first night, and seeing the MK is special. Plus, the extra day (making a 9 day pass instead of an 8 day pass)on the pass cost me $9.00 for a family of 5! Once you get into more than 7 or so days, the additional days are really inexpensive.

True, the cost is minimal for that extra day for the three of us. Guess my main concern was since we are doing in busy season, landing later in the day and most likely taking ME (not positive yet) my guess is that we will be in the Kingdom around 6:30ish? Wasn't sure if I was pushing it just to be at MK for 3 or 4 hours.

Anyone other thoughts from you experienced Disers?
