I'm thinking of joining WW @ Work. I'm just uncomfortable paying the full fee up front. I know it's supposed to be a motivator, but I don't work like that. So, l'm afraid I'll "lose" the money - not the weight. Plus, I'm not sure I'll be comfortable speaking up in front of my co-workers.

But, I need to do something, my weight is getting out of control. And, the WW classes around me are all during the day, during work hours. There are none in the evenings or weekends.

Has anyone done WW @ Work? Did it work for you?

Today's the first day of WW @ Work. I've decided to stop making excuses and join. Wish me luck! :flower:

Good luck! I too felt my weight was getting out of control and I needed to do something. It's only been a week but I do feel more in control already!

lovinmama -- CONGRATULATIONS!!! what a big first step! i'm on WW online as a SAHM, so i can't say i understand what it's like -- BUT -- remember your co-workers are there too. they are in the same place for the same reason. If there are things you want to share but not at the workplace, ummm, well, HERE WE ARE! WISH friends are great listeners!

Absolutely! The ease of an At-Work program is magnificent compared to having to make time and find a meeting any other day of the week. I've been an at-worker programmer for a long, long time (and have been at goal for almost 5 years). I need the weekly program to keep me honest and motivated. Good luck!!

Today was my first at work meeting. I too was worried about paying up front, but the group I am joining lost 670lbs last year and there are about 20 people in the group, they have had great success and are a true team and provide each other with a tremendous amount of support.

p2oh, great for you. I think you will love it. You don't have to talk if you don't want to.

I think WW is a great sensible eating plan... you really can eat what you want just keep in your points. I lost 50 lbs and kept it off for over a year (that being said with a mouth full of sugar free Jell-o :teeth: )

I gained a little over the holidays but back on track. It is a great plan. ::yes::

The only time I ever successfully lost on WW was when I did WW @ Work. I've changed jobs (moved from MA to FL) but just started WW@Work on 1/3, and I can tell it's going to be better for me. The community meetings, for me were too impersonal. I like having people around the office to keep me accountable and to be able to share ideas with all the time, not just one hour per week.

Some participants speak up and some just sit quietly in the meetings, so I would think the participation level would be up to you, but if you can't get to the other meetings, I think you should give the At work program a shot.

The only way I would have joined WW by going to meetings would have been through work. Afterall, these are the people you spend more time with than your family! We tried to get a group, but were short a few people, so I ended up doing it online. Luckily, I still had the support of my coworkers because several of them were on WW too. It's great, because you eat lunch together and you "watch out" for each other, and you deter each other from the sweet table (we have one at work!). It's fun to have WW support at work.

Hi, OP here. Joined on Tuesday and have been doing pretty well so far. It was a little intimidating being the "new girl" to the group--everyone else seemed so far ahead of me.

I've done WW before and thought the instructor went through things really quickly. By the time everyone was done weighing in, she did about 5 minutes on portions, did about 7 minutes on the plans and then the meeting was over. Hopefully, it was just because it was the first meeting and they were waiting to see if we had enough people.

So, I'm on day 3 and taking it one day at a time. I forgot my books at home today, so I'm staying away from all snacking, just in case. I'll probably join online eventually, but I'm trying not to take any "shortcuts" right now and really stick to the plan.

Congratulations DisneyLovingMama! I'm so happy you joined! Tuesday is my WW@Work Day too! The first meetings are always more hectic than the others so I think people will begin to weigh in more quickly and the meeting will get down to business sooner.

I hate it when I forget my books at home, but the good thing is that you have coworkers who you can consult with! I think you will grow more comfortable and when you do you'll love having other people that you can ask questions when you're not sure what certain points values are. And of course you know you can always come here too!!!

Again, congratulations and good luck! :)

Thanks! I'm excited - especially since I've been on it for a couple of days. Makes me feel good and that I have the strength to do it.

At work, the majority of WWers are doing the Core plan. I'm doing the flex plan. The Core people have lost a ton of weight. I'm just not ready to try that yet. I want to be the flex plan leader! :flower:

Do people ever post on this board for points? Or should I stick to the WW boards for that?
