I was out of work for about 5 months and just recently went back in work in February. I haven't been to Disney World in about 2 1/2 years and I am really missing it.

I have a little money saved up and can take a trip in June with the kids stay and play free deal...but I can't keep thinking, should I save the money and use it for other things or go and enjoy what I love so much.

I would drive down (with a mini fridge to cut food expenses) and we would not be able to stay the full 7 days I wanted to....but I can't decide.

I thought of staying off-site but with the parking costs at the park and the loss of EMH, I wouldn't enjoy the trip as much.

Any thougths??? If I do go any tips that could help cut costs more??

Thanks

There's no way for us to know enough about your financial situation from that post to recommend one direction or another...When you say you have a little money saved up, I assume that means you aren't in a big financial hole from being unemployed?

yeah I am not hurting much. I just keep thinking I was strugging for so long how I finally catch up and I am taking a trip...I don't know. The money I have was unexpected from my last job, so it wasn't what I was counting on.

As long as you have recovered from your layoff, this job is secure and you have a good financial plan....

Go for it!

Scary economy--so if you fret that history will repeat itself, I would hold off.

I would really strive to make it a resposnible budget trip--too easy to go hog wild after the stress you have experienced iin the past year.

I would do it. I think you'll feel better and it will perk the whole family up. You haven't gone in awhile and it will probably bring up the morale.

I would GO FOR IT!!!

Set a really good budget for yourself and stick to it so you don't feel guilty later, and you will just remember how much of a wonderful time you had!!

You only have ONE life to live!!! Go & visit somewhere that feeds your soul! :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

Do you have an emergency fund? If so I would say go, if not, I would say save up a reasonable-sized fund, and then go to WDW. It's not going anywhere! :)

Yes to that. With a little more cushion (and time to save), you might be able to go longer, skip the mini-fridge, just be able to enjoy more.

Congrats on the new job.
