I know crazy question, but, I'm thinking of going around June 15th and driving. I would take my parents and 2 kids, DH would stay home. My parents both drive, but, I would probably be the only driver. I would travel from PA to either SC or Georgia the 1st day and then on to WDW the 2nd day. Neither of my parents has ever flown and I enjoy traveling with them, plus I wouldn't need to rent a car. Would you do it if you were me? Why or why not? Thanks for any replies or advice!:sunny:

Definetely!!!! Any chance to go to WDW, I'd go.

Melinda

I have never actually driven and done most of the driving, DH always did ( 3 times ). I have driven us all to Ocean City, Md and Wildwood Crest, NJ, though. I guess I'm just nervous wondering if I could drive that far myself. :sunny:

We have driven to WDW from NJ. It's not a bad drive at all and it sounds like you will have plenty of company along the way!

If you can drive a mile, you can drive 500 miles :p I say go and have a great time!

I agree with everyone. It seems like a long drive would be so hard to do when you think about it but once you're on the road it's really not bad. Go and have a great time!

I tend to hate the drive, but it sounds like you'll have a lot of company, I say got for it.

I don't see why you couldn't - especially since you will have your parents with you..

One thought that comes to mind though is the age of the vehicle you will be driving.. Is is newer or older? Reliable thus far?

I would have the car thoroughly checked out before you make the trip AND get a membership to Triple A just in case.. Better to be safe than sorry..

Otherwise - GO - and have a blast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!;)

I think if you have AAA and a cell phone, you're in business! How long would you get to stay? I would want to be there at least a week if I were spending 4 days in transit.

Go for it! :) I've done long drives by myself and it's really not that bad. Just make sure you stop in safe areas, and you'll have your parents and kids with you to keep you company! I bet it will be a memorable trip.... I drove to South Carolina with my Dad, sister, Grandma, Great Aunt, and Great Uncle about 10 years ago... I still think back on that trip... and it's so special to me now that my Grandma has passed away. These are the kind of trips you cherish. :)

We drove twice from NJ, seven of us in a mini van in 2000 (three were adults)!!! DH, four DD's, me and my sister!! We had the BEST time driving there, (my sister flew home early because after of WDW vacation we visited DH's family). The trip home, however, was not as exciting!! I swore I would NEVER do it again!! But, to save money (six round-trip tickets are VERY expensive) we drove again in 2002 (minus my sister) only six in the van that year!!!

Go! Have a GREAT time!!!

Seeing Mickey and all his pals is worth every mile!!! :hyper:

We came from Indy to wdw. Driving it in two days is easy and non stressful.
I would make sure and have a place to stay early in the evening as they get taken up fast. I'd rather stop, enjoy a sit down dinner, maybe a swim and get an early start in the morning. (this is not what we did, just what I wanted and wished we did.)

We made a pitstop at Clearwater. It was a bit of a sidetrack, but I had to see the ocean. :teeth:

Thanks so much for all your encouraging words. I'm just dying to get back to WDW, I'm in withdrawal.:p
I do belong to AAA and have a newer Trailblazer so that is what we would use.
