Good evening everybody. I'm thinking of taking another trip to Disney this year from October 26th to Nov 1st. I can think of many reasons not to go (the economy, tight money, job security) and one main reason to go ( I love Disney World).

Anyway I know at this time the Epcot Food and Wine Festival is going on which I have never gone to. Looks fun and interesting. Would appreciate any input on this year's festival.

However my main question is this. Should I go to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party or would it just be too weird for a 42 year old man to be there? Thoughts, comments, suggestions?

Once again thanks in advance.

Hi !!

Just returned from a trip with my DH - we did both the festival at EPCOT and the halloween party - we enjoyed both!!!!

There were so many little booths set up at Epcot - it was GREAT!~ you can get a little guide book that tells you what is where. They also recommend that you get a disney gift card if you want to frequent the booths to make it quicker - you go through and pay and then get the food at each booth. I am not very adventursome - and had the churros and chocolate and then the cheddar cheese soup. DH had the louisiana jaymbalaya (sp) and some spicy beef pasty puff thing = both he LOVED!!!! prices varied from like 3-6 dollars for the food - not sure on the wine prices though.

At the halloween party we really had fun - we trick or treated and went on tons of rides plus the parade and the awesome fireworks!!! the adults trick or treated just as much as the kids!! It might be crowded though by the time you go - if you could go on a weeknight that might be better. We went on a tuesday night and it was awesome!! But as we left the park on friday night, the crowds coming in for the party were crazy!! Looked like the crowds on new years eve!!!

Have fun!!!
Wendy:thumbsup2

Yes to MNSSHP & F&W- although you may want to call asap as the nights around Halloween may all ready be sold out (I know Halloween night is)!

You don't want to miss MNSSHP.... We've gone for the last 4 years and LOVE it!! There are fewer peeps in the parks, long lines are non-existent and it's so much fun to see the characters dressed up, the parade of villians and the park decorated like ONLY Disney can decorate!! There is a large group of us going on the 26th and only 2 of us are bringing along children! The rest are adults around your age! :cool1:

As for the concerns, I'm right there with you. My trip is paid off, but I'm in the mortgage industry and well... unless you live under a rock you know what's going on in my world. Rumor of the month is that the client site that I've been on for the last 7 years is making major changes to be announced on October 31st! I've made everyone promise to NOT call me, NOT text me... I'll hear about it when we get home on the 1st. I don't want my vacation ending on a bad note.

Take the plunge and enjoy your trip! :goodvibes

This will be the first year that I'll be there during MNSSHP and I don't plan to miss it. I'm even thinking about wearing a costume or at least paint my face. I so want to act like a kid again. :yay:

Teresa, if you really want to enjoy mnsshp, you MUST at least wear a Halloween tee, better yet, go ahead and dress up! :thumbsup2

Rebecca....and wear could I obtain a Halloween Tee? As for dress up...I'm thinking about not packing to much.. face paint would take up less room. I don't even know what to wear....any suggestions?

You can get MNSSHP tshirts are sold all over the place down there - but also usually Walmart and Old Navy have some - you could even make your own!! Just go over to the Disigns board - there are tons to choose from!! We went as Philadephia Eagles fans, and wore our shirts....it was fun!!! They had free face painting at Mickey's Toon Town and they also had halloween light up necklaces that you could buy. It was really FUN!!!

Not weird at all considering the median age of our group of 13 is 45. (with ages ranging from 16 to 78) We'll be in attendance Halloween night.

We're planning on acting like children - trick or treating - riding the haunted mansion - comparing loot sacks - overdosing on candy - running around the park until the sugar high wears off and then dropping like flies.

Feel free to join us. We've got an extra seat or two at LTT for a 4:20 pm dinner and will probably have a few empty seats at our 8am AK breakfast the next morning.

what is the scarest thing at the mnsshp I am emarsed to admit that I scare easily

What is the scariest thing? If he still rides at night, probably the Headless Horseman.

And should one go? Yes, especially if one likes to dress up, as I believe, as other people have pointed out, it is one of the few times that an adult can dress up at the Magic Kingdom.
