I already have done a four night in March but.... I have 15 points left over with the option to buy 24 more (I know I know I could rent/transfer also and looking into that but I am not comfortable with renting and how am I going to get a 24-40 point transfer there are so few) that gives me 39 points. That equals 3 or 4 nights the second week of Dec this year in a studio! They do have availability last time I checked!

360 for the room through dvc/ other owner
850 for flight for four of us (southwest BWI to orlando is pretty reasonable)
Dining Plan 3 nights: 287.91
Dining Plan 4 nights: 383.88
662.00

About 2200 (+ other stuff) for the whole trip for three or four nights!

Life's pretty good when this is my hardest decision today! We are going on the cruise next year in May so I don't want to wear out the magic but DW said she would love to see the x mas lights at disney. My mom thinks I am crazy but oh well. I don't want to spoil my kids 5 and 3 too much but they are in daycare and we travel/vacation a lot to make sure we have extra special time with them.

It would kill me to lose points. If you can afford it go for it. I'd tell the kids this is once in a lifetime chance to go in early December before the oldest starts 1st grade. First grade is a real important as kids that do well in first grade do better in later years. And then stick to your guns in the years to come.

why not as long as you have got the money than I would never say no!!!

Go! We just got back after an 11 day trip, and now we're scheduled to go again in late October. :)

I say GO!! :woohoo: I went in May as a Mother's Day present to myself and am going again in October. If you can't bank them, then use them. I would do everything in my power to NOT lose points!!

I'd go in a heartbeat! All I have to say is Disney to my son and his duffle is packed!

We just went this past April and stayed in a moderate for 8 nights, and we just went back last week for 5 nights and stayed in our new home at AKV. I don't regret going back but I do regret spending all the money in tickets as my kids did not seem to excited about going back to the parks. They are 7 and 13. They wanted to stay more at the resort and in the pool. I could off saved almost 1000.00 and get to know our resort and have the kids attend the different acitivities there. Maybe do other stuff around downtown, there is so much stuff to do. Your children are younger so it may be different for your family.

I say do it. You don't even HAVE to do the parks, you can just hang out at the resort and have a nice relaxing trip.

Do you have park tickets already b/c you didn't include them in your price break down...

The lights and decorations are the fantastic. Go for it. It will really put you in the Christmas spirit!::santa:

I do not already have the park tickets but that was the 662 in my calculations. My DD is two so she is free. So 2 adults, 1 child MYW tickets (we really don't need park hoppers b/c this would be 3 trip in two years)
HMMM, the debate begins. I am even thinking of the SW Credit card. I have only one credit card now with a zero balance and have heard it is good credit score wise to have two. They are offering one free ticket with sign up. Last month it was two free tickets why didn't I do it then.
Anyone have a promo for the SW CC for the 32 rapid rewards deal.
Thanks,

Alright I am doing it!!!!! I am calling tomorrow morning and if they have it we are doing it.

I just booked My first night at SSR (due to avail) and then three nights at OKW (I am on the wait list for the first night just to keep everything easier!!)
MY DW is so excited!! Thanks all for the motivation!
