Should I get an annual pass or wait for general public code?

I don't have an AP nor do I have a Disney Visa. Are the AP discounts such that I should get one and hope for a AP code for my dates? We are only staying for 5 nights at a moderate. At this time there are no codes for my dates (1/31/07 through 2/5/07). I am really torn. I believe the AP can give some nice discounts, but I am not sure whether I should take the chance that I don't get an AP discount and is it worth the hassle of getting the AP before check-in? So torn....we are probably not planning on going back to Disney within a year from our trip.

You do not actually have to have an annual pass when you book under an AP rate, you just have to have one by the time you check in. I would go ahead and book an AP rate, then in a general public code comes out see how the numbers play out.

I think I'd chance it.

You don't have to have the AP rate to book it is correct.

Check mousesavers to see history of discounts for when you are traveling. If there is no codes now buying an AP now will not help you. You'll have to book at rack rate now.

I do not have an AP. Yesterday I had the AP rate applied to my Poly reservation.

I'm going to wait until the code date offering is over just in case someone cancels and I can snag their code, AND make sure I don't have an email or pin code attached to my name...THEN I will go ahead and buy my AP.
