I have been considering getting the universal mastercard, but I am not sure if it is worth it...I dont go to orlando alot...probably 3 times in last 10 years...I am 25 and looking for a rewards card...I am staying off site in may and earning double points while i'm there sounds good, but is it worth it?? Or if I have a rewards card for there...maybe I would visit more often? Let me know your thoughts

i have the US mc with the rewards program.

its good just not on universal items in the park/hotel but other things.

i get the catalouge every other month but can't find mine now.

go to the sign up site and browse thru the rewards you can redeem for.

you can get specials in packages/rooms/tickets/etc by using the uo mc

thanks for the info...they do offer alot of different things..double points are only on tickets and hotel onsite though right? How do you use your points? If you dont mind me asking :cool1:

right now i have 65,000 points.

saving up for the free hotel stay.......

and if i can't resist saving them, a whole lot of dvd/cd......woo hoo

I have one but I just paid it off and as soon as I redeem my points I am closing the account, the interest rate is really high, plus you can get the same discounts with an AP. You basically get 1 point for each dollar you spend, but there are exceptions for getting double points and so on. But the good rewards are way high. I have close to 9,000 points and I can get 1 express ticket with that! So for 9,000 dollars that I spent I can get a $30 ticket

Credit cards are fine if you hav the self control to not spend more than you can pay off. We have no annual fee and we pay ours off every month, and have never paid an interest charge. So, if the rate is high, I don't care. The trick is to find a rewards program that it worth it. Currently we have a travel reward where we get 1 point for every $. We pay for everything this way - summer camp, appliances etc. After 25,000 we get a frequent flyer ticket worth up to $400. And we are not blacked out on anything. Any ticket available to the general public is fair game as long as it doesn't cost more thna $400. Sounds like the Universal card is just not worth it.

i have never carried a charge over on my mc.
i pay it all off when due.

my interest rate is very low. less than 5%
and i love the color of my uo mc..........can you tell i am a blonde?

the other best one i have is the discover card for benefits.
the monthly specials where i get additional points and the redemption for the gc or money. this month the specials include doctor charges, haircuts, gas

Wait and sign up for the card in the parking garage to get the free carry bag....then the workers will have someone else to bother while I am trying to get to the park.
