Should I get a fp+ for MSEP OR Wishes

I will be arriving mid-day on January 16th (MLK weekend) and probably won't get to MK until after 5pm. I'm thinking this might be the one time it will be worth it for us to get a parade or fireworks fast pass. We usually watch the parade in frontier land and then book it over see the castle projection and fireworks only to find that everywhere that doesn't have a tree or other object obstructing the view is packed. Here are my questions --- I've heard that you can stick around in the MSEP fp viewing area and watch the show and fireworks but it gets crowded. Anyone have experience with this? Would you do it again. If I snag a fp for Wishes do I have time to watch the parade from a less crowded area and then head over for the show and fireworks? It looks like its going to be a crowded night. Thanks for your advice!!

FP Wishes.

The current MSEP FP viewing area (in Town Square) is not a good spot to see Wishes and a terrible spot to try to see Celebrate the Magic.

In Jan., we don't know if the above info will still be the case, as they may very well move the MSEP viewing back to the Hub.

Time will tell.

(BTW... Right NOW, during the holidays with the giant MK Christmas Tree in Town Square, the
viewing of Wishes and CtM is IMPOSSIBLE from the current MSEP FP area.)

We did both on 10/26. We did the first parade and LOVED the FP+ for MSEP. We've never seen the parade like that because we've never camped out for a spot. Honestly I was less than impressed with the FP+ for Wishes. They made everyone stand and it was hard for my 8 year old to find a spot where he could see Celebrate the Magic. And all of my fireworks pictures had cell phones with mirror images in them from people holding up their phones. Took a little time to remove them, but the pictures are better now :) Anyway, if that's the only park you're doing and have the FP+ to spare, I say get both. We did Space Mountain as our other one and it all worked out great.

Edit to add we left after Wishes and there was plenty of curbside seating for the second MSEP around the train station and very front of MK. So if you're night owls and there are 2 parades that night, you don't need FP+ for both.

I used a FP+ for Wishes on 10/28 and we were literally laying on the astroturf the whole time. We did sit at the back but there was nobody beside or in front of us for a good 4ft at least. We loved it and plan to get one for our March trip as well.

I'll share with you our experience on one night. We did both on 10/11. Wishes FP+ was PACKED. We were sitting and had no room to move. People that came in 5 minutes before stood on the walkways, as there was no place in the "grass."

FP+ for MSEP was amazing. Front row and next family was 2 feet away. There was no one standing behind us.

Now, it all depends on how many people that have a FP+ actually show up.

You won't be able to see both well from the same reserved area. But, you can step out from the MSEP area into mainstreet once the parade goes by and get a good spot to watch Wishes.
