Should I get a double Mac or two singles with clips?

Help... need some advice. I don't have a mac - never have - but I'm totally sold on them due to foldability and ease of use at the World.

We will have a 3 yr old and a 7 1/2 month old... along with our other three kids ages 11, 9, and 5 years.

Not sure if we should get a double mac or two singles and try using the stroller clips.

Any advice? Please share all thoughts. Thanks!:goodvibes

I have no experience with either - but I would choose two singles - in case you want to take the 3 yr old somewhere without the baby. you and hubby could split up.

We were in your same boat when my 2nd child was born.. We actually went with the double mac for the first trip..DD 3 1/2, DD 4mos. Next trip (4, 8mos) we ended up with two macs hooked together with clips. I think I liked the two better. DH and I each took a stroller.. occationally we would hook them together if one of us was going off somewhere, or DH just wanted to give me a break from pushing :lovestruc It definitely allowed for more flexibility.

I will add, It was a little difficult with the clips because you have to be careful how you turn so the wheels don't get all hosed up. If you reverse and go forward too quickly, the wheels get tangled and you have to manual straighten them to go forward. that was the only draw back...OH and it doesn't fit thru the some of the park turnstyles (or store entrances) connected, whereas the double would.

Thanks for sharing W:goodvibes here did you get the clips or do you remember the name of them? What types of Macs did you use? I'm thinking two is better... it will also probably resell better later. Or at least I won't be stuck with a double when my 3 year no longer needs a stroller for non-Disney trips.

They were Lionheart clips..I think I bought them on Amazon..but I've seen them since then at BabiesRUs stores.

We had an older Mac Quest (had it for years) attached to a new Mac Volo. The three clips attach in certain spots. I don't think you could do it with strollers that were not similar.

It does end up making the two strollers "wider" than a double..as there is a little space added by the clips. and the only other complaint I would have is that when you are walking you can sometimes end up kicking the middle wheels...its a little awkward..but I have that problem with the double as well. (maybe its just me and the way I walk :rotfl: )

I do love the macs and how easy the fold up...they are a little tippy though.

Good Luck!!

We bought the same stroller clips at BabiesRUs.

I would suggest getting two strollers, but only if you will usually have two people pushing them. We have two Volos and DH and I each push one. We find it easy to navigate through crowds and it's easy to each fold up one stroller and take it onto the busses.

We used the stroller clips once our first trip. DH walked around with the two little ones while I did RnR and ToT with our older child. We then swapped so he could ride RnR with her. I walked half-way down the road and then turned around and parked myself with the strollers until they came out. I just found them difficult to push and nearly impossible to maneuver (esp getting up/down curbs).

I would suggest bringing the clips just in case you needed to split up, but I they will not convert two strollers into a double stroller that you can use to tour the parks throughout your vacation.

If you use the Volo, I would invest in some velcro ankle weights so the stroller doesn't tip when you hang stuff off of it. I have one and just bought the weights and its a life saver! We take our double mac to disney for our 5 and 2 year olds and its a bit tough to maneuver but probably easier than 2 strollers clipped together
