Should I even try for an Ohanas substitute?

I've read the recent threads on Ohana's menu changes. I have never been before and my ADR is for August 28th. (during free dining period)

Since I have no frame of reference, is it better to keep the existing ADR or attempt to find something else?

And if I can attempt it, what restaurants would you suggest?

it doesn't sound like that big of change to warrant not going..if that is what you mean. all that has really changed are a couple side dishes.

I think that people are getting a little hysterical here. ;) I love ohanas and I love change to. The whole experience is great at Ohana's and we will go again next year. In my WDW vacation plans it is a must do.

Personally I wouldn't change it. Unless you just go there for the fried rice and wontons it's still going to be great and the atmosphere will be the same.

You shouldn't have too many problems changing. I just changed one ressie for 2 weeks from now & made 2 more ressies for the same trip.(Narcoosees, Mama Melrose & PLaza) Depends on the restaurant, really. Go for Kona - it's a Gem & not as busy as such a great place warrents.

Since you have no frame of reference, definitely still go. As I stated in the other thread, the only change that has happened so far is the green beans. The rest will be sometime in the future, just not sure when.

The green beans, rice and wontons will be changing.

I have no problem with the rice changing since my son hates rice. He'd rather starve than eat rice type thing. They both have had scalloped potatoes before so thats ok as well.

The green beans sounded great. My kids and DH eat all types of vegetables soo to switch from one ot the other sound ok, but it does sound like a "cheaper" version of veggies. Personally I am not a pork bacon fan, so if the new new veggies have the bacon sauce I probably won't eat it.

My kids will both eat the wontons. If they change to either lo mein noodles, spring rolls or another type of dumpling thing they will eat it. I personally would love to see more green veggies, but thats not my call.

Doesnt' gingered honey steamed baby carrot sound delicious? I would love to see that.

We'll be there on the 28th too, and I'm still going. We've never been there before, so nothing to compare to.
